Seahawks safety Earl Thomas left last Sunday’s victory over the Eagles with a hamstring injury that coach Pete Carroll described as a “first-degree” strain early this week.

Carroll said that such an injury usually came with a 10-14 day timeline for recovery, which makes it little surprise that Thomas isn’t expected to play against the Buccaneers this weekend. Thomas has not practiced this week and has been listed as doubtful for the game on the team’s injury report.

If he’s out, Thomas will join defensive end Michael Bennett on the sideline. Bennett will miss his fifth game with a knee injury that required surgery early this month. Running backs C.J. Prosise and Troymaine Pope and linebacker Brock Coyle have also been ruled out.

Cornerback DeShawn Shead also left last week’s game with a hamstring injury and has been listed as questionable. Center Justin Britt is also questionable with an ankle injury.
