Dolphins win their sixth straight, though they had to hang on against 49ers

AP

Quietly, perhaps subtly, the Dolphins have made themselves a factor in the AFC. But they still have some questions to answer.

The Dolphins won their sixth straight game, beating the 49ers x-x on what should have been a more a comfortable win, considering their late lead and opponent.

The Dolphins (7-4) were up 31-14 in the fourth quarter, but struggled to put the 49ers away late in the game, unable to run on a team that has been pretty forgiving in that regard all season.

Ryan Tannehill was 20-of-30 for 285 yards and three touchdowns, the kind of efficient performance he’s been turning in more of lately.

The 49ers are on a streak of their own, having lost 10 in a row since opening the season with that long-ago win over the Rams.

And while they can’t compete with good teams at the moment, quarterback Colin Kaepernick was actually quite good.

He was 29-of-46 for 296 yards passing for three touchdowns and an interception, and also ran 10 times for 113 yards. It was his best performance since taking over for Blaine Gabbert midseason. He moved them into position for a game-tying touchdown late in the game, but his desperate last-second run was stopped by Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh at the 2-yard line.

  1. LOVED to see the disrespectful turd get blown up on the last play, and lead his team to a 10th straight loss!

  2. Kiko Alonso, of half-Cuban descent, was the one who stopped Kaepernick, who wore a shirt of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, on the final play of the game, on the weekend of Castro’a death.

    Poetic justice, my friends.

  3. They didnt run the ball well because 3 of their starters on the left side of the oline didnt play

  4. Kaep is garbage. He had someone open before running past the line of scrimmage. But kaep is blind, he can’t see the field. He’s just thinking run. Thank God gabbert got us a win, because I don’t see kaep winning any games this season. Can’t wait until this clown kaep gets cut at the end of the season. We’ll be a better team once he’s gone, and can finally start winning some games.

  5. I person writes that the Saints ran up the score & this post criticizes the Fins for not putting away their opponent…. which is it, be nice or keep scoring?

  6. As a Dolphins fan I continue to wait for the wheels to fall off as in years past and the only thing to look forward to was the beat down we would put on the patriots. Hopefully this regular season will end with a playoff birth.

  7. Dear Santa,

I have a heart condition. If you could just let Miami win a game comfortably when it matters I’d really appreciate it.

  8. This is that one game we were hoping to say ” a win is a win” with three lineman out
But they did make me say “WOW” a lot
Big challenge next week, let’s keep the chains moving

  9. Kaepernick took his team to a super bowl not that long ago. According to all the Kaepernick lovers (who are pathetic), he did it all by himself. Now, the 49ers can’t win a game with him at quarterback. What happened? Is Kaepernick still the future f the NFL?

  10. Kaepernick raised by white parents and blames white people for black problems. Btw he’s not even full black. He looks like Indigenous Italian lol

  11. Another game that causes my blood pressure to spike!
Can they just put teams away & keep their foot on the gas?
Starting a bad habit of letting teams back in it, when we should still be playing hard – it seems some of the play calling – ONCE we have a good lead gets a little too conservative & BAM…it becomes a lot closer than it should be! If we play like this in Baltimore – Hail Mary Joe will surely make us pay…he has a pretty good record against us already & their Defense ain’t too bad either!

Playoff ‘birth’ lmao. chipster, you are the gift that keeps on giving. The phrase is playoff berth. It’s so cute when you try to use sports terms.

  13. Kaep had a nice game, the fins keep finding a way to to win. As a dolphins fan, I will take it!!

Also, on the last play, it was Suh and Kiko finished Kaep off.

  14. So many haters kap had a good game this loss is on our defense. You people are sheep educate yourselves. #gokap #goniners #nobodyhasitbetterthanUS

  15. Maust1013………watching the patriots play the Jets without being able to cheat must be tough. Also was 10 or 13 your jv number for your senior season….it’s confusing.

  16. Hey, Colin, the ’70’s called. They want their hair style back!”
The Dolphins burying him on the final play was so appropriate!

    O’ say WE can see!

A lot of things seem confusing for you

  18. A football fan type of football game. Great play, great ending; no one should let political rhetoric interfere with a Great Football Game.

Another one down and Phins Up!!!
