While Miami Dolphins tight end Jordan Cameron has admitted that his football future is uncertain after sustaining a fourth concussion earlier this season, he insists that he’s not yet ready to bring his career to an end.
According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, Cameron said that he is not retired and is waiting until after the season to assess where to go from here.
“I’m not shutting the door on anything,” Cameron said. “I’m going to wait until after the season. I’m kind of glad I get to talk to you because everyone’s counting me out -- he’s done, he’s retiring. No, I’m not. I’ll think about that after the season. That’s really all I have to say about it.”
Cameron said he’s received positive feedback from doctors and believes he’s still in the prime of his career from a physical standpoint. He had eight catches for 60 yards and a touchdown before being injured in a Week 3 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Cameron was placed on injured reserve by Miami in November.
