Lions cornerback Darius Slay already has missed a couple of games this year due to a hamstring injury. On Monday, the team will begin to get an idea as to whether he’ll be missing any more.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Slay will have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

Hamstring problems tend to linger, and they only heal completely with sufficient rest. As the Lions move toward what would be their first division title since 1993, Slay may be more inclined to push it, knowing that he’ll have the entire offseason for healing.

The Lions visit the Cowboys in eight days before hosting the Packers in what currently would be an NFC North championship game.
