The 49ers claimed linebacker Carl Bradford via waivers from the Packers on Monday.

Bradford was a fourth-round pick of the Packers in 2014. He played in his first four regular-season games this season, registering two tackles as a linebacker and another on special teams.

The 49ers created a roster spot for Bradford by placing linebacker Nick Bellore on the injured-reserve list. Bellore is one of three 49ers players who suffered season-ending injuries on Sunday vs. the Falcons.

The Packers waived Bradford to create a roster spot for rookie quarterback Joe Callahan, who was promoted ahead of Sunday’s game at Chicago as insurance because Aaron Rodgers is dealing with a calf injury.
