The Panthers have decided to keep linebacker Luke Kuechly out of Monday night’s game at Washington.

Kuechly had missed the last three games due to a concussion. Kuechly recently cleared the league’s concussion protocol and was listed as questionable, but with the Panthers playing for next year the team decided to keep Kuechly out.

Last weekend, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said the team would “have to balance our enthusiasm with what’s best for Luke and the team long term.”

The Panthers had previously announced that defensive end Charles Johnson and offensive tackle Daryl Williams would be out. The Redskins had previously listed safety/linebacker Su’a Cravens as out and linebacker Will Compton as doubtful. Compton is out, but the Redskins have no other injury-related inactives.

The Redskins’ other inactives are quarterback Nate Sudfeld, offensive lineman Vinston Painter, offensive lineman Kory Lichtensteiger, running back Matt Jones and wide receiver Rashad Ross. As expected, tight end Jordan Reed will play despite a shoulder injury.

The 7-5-1 Redskins are trying to play themselves into a playoff spot over the final three games.
