Line judge Sarah Thomas leaves after collision, returns to game

AP

NFL officials constantly are at risk of injury as they try to position themselves to make accurate calls amid 22 young, large, fast, strong men in armor. On Saturday, line judge Sarah Thomas has that risk become a potential injury.

Thomas took a helmet to the midsection from Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph as he was being tackled near the sideline by Packers safety Morgan Burnett. Thomas landed hard and exited the game.

There are conflicting reports as to whether she was checked for a concussion (she appeared to hit her head on the ground) or whether he had a potential wrist injury. Either way, she received clearance to return to action.

  1. If that line judge was some hairy fat dude, there’s no way he would have gotten the screen time Sarah Thomas did. Green Bay doesn’t have cheerleaders. Sarah was the sexiest woman on those sidelines. And therefore, we get a story! Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

She sure is a lot tougher than anyone in purple.

She’s made more tackles than anyone in purple… Weak Defense and an even weaker offensive line…. They made a 1 armed Nick Perry look like Von Miller.

  3. I can’t recall any bad flags she has thrown this year. And that’s really the hallmark for any official in any sport at the end of the day.
I’m glad she wasn’t hurt picking up a battle scar today. Just a hazard of the job.

The fact that I haven’t heard anyone gripe about her all year means they need to really work hard to get her back in a game soon.

Wasn’t she the line judge that incorrectly ruled possession of a fumble in the Washington-Cleveland game?

If those players who caused her to fall down are not fined, I will be amazed.

You must be easily amazed. Lions fans are looking forward to hosting your team two weeks in a row, and sending you home with losses two weeks in a row.

    Have fun scraping your windshield!

  6. I heard Zimmer said she couldn’t return to the game……so she did.

They are doing things Zimmer’s way in Minnesota now!

except when they don’t feel like it. and stuff.
