Tom Brady Sr.: Roger Goodell constantly lied, it’s beyond reprehensible

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has said he’ll wait until after the Super Bowl to share his thoughts about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Brady’s dad isn’t waiting.

Tom Brady Sr. told KRON that Goodell is an unethical liar who went on a witch hunt against his son.

“What the league did to him and what Roger Goodell constantly lied about is beyond reprehensible as far as I’m concerned,” Brady Sr. said of his son. “[Goodell] went on a witch hunt and went in way over his head and had to lie his way out in numerous ways and the reality is that Tommy never got suspended for deflating footballs. He got suspended because the court said that he could, Roger Goodell could do anything that he wanted to do to any player for any reason whatsoever. That’s what happened. The NFL admitted they had no evidence on him.”

As for the possibility of Goodell standing next to Brady after the Patriots win the Super Bowl, Brady Sr. doesn’t relish that, saying, “Somebody that has Roger Goodell’s ethics doesn’t belong on any stage that Tom Brady is on.”

  1. Tom Brady, Sr. is 100% correct. Goodell is a liar and he did go on a witch hunt against his son and the Patriots.
If you don’t think Goodell is a liar, revisit the Ray Rice incident.
And if you don’t think Goodell went on a witch hunt against Brady, check out the facts.
Of course, all the jealous Brady, Kraft, Belichick haters will disagree, even while they criticize Goodell for other things he’s done.
The one thing I disagree with Brady’s father on is I can’t wait to see Goodell stand on a podium and have to hand the Lombardi Trophy to Brady and Kraft. You won’t be able to hear the words Goodell will say because of all the booing he’ll get when he gets up there.
It’s the reason I hope the Patriots win the game, just to see Goodell get what he deserves.

  2. Ditto.

Unfortunately for Goodell, he was the mouthpiece behind a bunch of jealous butt hurt owners. It has been proven to anyone with half a brain that this was never about footballs, it was about trying to knock the Patriots down a peg. How’d that work for ya?

  3. And here we go again. “Pops Brady” fighting his sons battles. Where is Mom?

Laughing out loud, rolling on the floor with this delicious stew of family arrogance, entitlement and we do nothing wrong and are better than you obnoxious attitude.

Hey Pops, do the crime, pay the fine. The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals has more swag than you. Deal with it!

  4. “Somebody that has Roger Goodell’s ethics doesn’t belong on any stage that Tom Brady is on.”
    ——————————————–
    Truer words were never spoken.

  5. Though I despise Goodell, Brady ultimately gets the last laugh. Will people remember one of the greatest QBs of all time or a puppet hell bent on an egocentric power trip since he was able to try and flex some muscles away from the owners.

  6. Seattle is about to experience Roger’s unique brand of justice.

Before New England it was Miami for bullying.

Before Miami it was New Orleans for bountying.

Before that it was Washington and Dallas for actually spending money even though there was no salary cap. They just didn’t go along with collusion.

  7. Sorry Mr. Brady Sr., but you’re wrong. Your son is a liar, a cheater, and destroyed evidence. You know it, too, because you wouldn’t be lashing out if he were truly innocent.

Don’t stop the public complaining by any means; in fact, turn it up a notch or two. Anything to distract your son from focusing on football… cause, you know, it’s only the most important game of the season next weekend.

  8. Goodell is such a weasel. What a complete turd. He’s the opppsite of Brady: constantly drawing negative attention to the game, and being arrogant about it.

    Worst. Commissioner. Ever.

  9. Hahahaha. So did your son!!!! Calling people the deflator. Not knowing who that guy was. Destroyed his own phone. Wouldn’t sit down with investigator to only go through messages with the balls boys. Cmon, your son was cheating, regardless of how dumb the whole thing is. Your coach taped the panthers super bowl walk through 10 years ago and goodell smashed that evidence as fast as he could so you didn’t lose that super bowl ring and start a huge controversy. I would say the four game suspension was a minor price to pay for a title.

  10. Much like any “he said/she said, somewhere in the middle lies the truthful this whole clusterfork….

  11. Stinky….Brady did not destroy his phone. He cycled it out and gave to his assistant. After being told by Ted Wells it was not needed. Read for once.

  12. Why won’t anyone ask Goodell why he lied about Brady’s testimony? Goodell is the only one who has been proven to have lied this entire time.

Wrong. Your SON continually lied, cheated AND destroyed evidence.
    ———————
Never destroyed evidence, that’s a complete lie. You’ve proven that you don’t really have a grasp on the facts and just make them up to fit your narrative of hating the Patriots. The phone wasn’t destroyed during the Ted Wells fraud investigation, it was after the fact and after Wells said he had all the information off of the phone and said Brady cooperated fully. Thanks for playing, now go catch up on third grade science.

  14. @NYNEAL – Tom Brady and Belli are known cheaters. They have been caught cheating and bending the rules multiple times. Roger Goodell was well within his rights to suspend Tom Brady and he should have. Brady’s and Belli’s reputations should be tarnished forever.

Crazy how during the first hearing Kraft bought off the judge and was entertaining him two nights later at a party. Bending the rules seems to be a top down situation within the kraft organization.

  15. Just to be clear, everyone who thinks this was all made up and a bunch of lies also has to accept and believe a guys nickname was “the deflator” because of “weight loss”.

It is TRUE that a guy named “the deflator” took balls into the bathroom right before a game where the balls were found to be deflated.

Were the balls deflated enough?? Did it make a difference in the game?? Probably not.

But is it likely he at least tried to deflate them just a tad? Yea… I think so. They don’t get off the hook because some of the balls fell in the range of the “ideal gas law” explanation… because we also know that many of them were beyond that range as well.

The burden of guilt here was “probably”… meaning 51% + likelihood.

So which is more likely… the deflator went into the bathroom and quickly tried letting just a tad bit of air out right before the game?

Or it’s just a series of bad coinicdences where a guy nicknamed “the deflator” because of “weight loss” happen to be caught up in a suspicious scenario where balls were thought to be deflated.

To me the 2nd scenario sounds like a 1 in a million long shot.

Let the thumbs down rain, but I bet you if we had some truth serum injected into these guys, we’d find out they did it… regardless if your hatred for Roger Goodell.

  16. Brady Sr. Is absolutely right. Glad somebody put it out there. Kraft should have been more aggressive but wasn’t. Brady Jr. gets killed by the media no matter what he says so not surprisingly he won’t talk about it. Everybody (with half a brain) knows it was a sham. Yet Goodell skates care free. At least come to Foxborough to face the fans that pay salary you chicken bleep.

  17. He’s 100% right and all you jealous haters can screw. You all scream that he cheated but have no proof. He did not lie, he did not destroy evidence. You are a bunch of know nothing clowns and would give your lives to have 10 second seconds of his.

  18. Quit crying if he lies so what – trump lies every minute of everyday. Sets the example. small hand trump is envious of tom Brady gloved hands – fantasies about them. Goodell said this. All lies.

  19. I’d be very surprised if Brady’s father didn’t support his son. After all, I’m sure Tom is supporting his father.

  20. Can we hear from Goodells daddy too? Then his cousin and any siblings he may have? If they all say Goodell was right then I guess it’s true.

  21. The NFL lied about the Patriots PSI and they lied about the Colts PSI. Goodell lied about
TB12 sealed testimony, discovered after it was unsealed. Those are undisputed facts.

  22. Spoken like an angry parent who’s kid just got busted. I remember when O.J. Simpson’s mom said ” I knew my boy was innocent”. I’m not comparing the two acts, but the parents’ reaction is always the same. I can’t blame Tom’s dad. His son’s legacy will be forever tarnished.

  23. Remember the game against the Jets when Brady complained to Jastremski the ball was over inflated to 16 psi.

Roger Goodell though the game was played at Met Life because he assumed the Patriots always manipulated their footballs at Gillette.

But during #Deflategate appeal Brady said that game was played at the Jets. Lyin’ Roger paused and said, “That game was played at Met Life?” and Brady said yes. It was one of the few times Roger said anything during the hearing.

That was very telling because it proved Roger had preconceived false conceptions about the whole ordeal and that the deflation of footballs never happened.

  24. It’s not hard to envision this guy raging up and down the sideline of a peewee league yelling directions at everyone.

  25. 30 years from now most fans won’t know who Goodell is. But Brady will still be widely known as GOAT, and more importantly remembered as an allround good person. And while I would have preferred that Tom Sr.had not commented just prior to SB and so publicly, at the end of the day he’s just being a good dad who loves his son.

  26. Brady can’t send a message because the league will discipline him, so after hearing Goodell’s garbage on the Cowturd show he gave Dad the ok to unleash on the dirtbag. Brilliant Cold War type strategy to send messages.

  27. Dear Cheetah Disciples. May some day you realize that you have a life apart from Tom Brady. May some day you realize that your Jesus Christ Brady: abandons a pregnant girlfriend with his child; cheats on his current wife with a celebrity friends nanny; cheats the rules and integrity of the NFL which causes his peers to despise him and authorities to suspend him, flaunts his arrogance without tapping the brakes………………………………….should I go on?

But somehow, despite all this, Prince Tom is your Daddy Jesus, more important to you than life itself. Why is that, exactly? No independent self-esteem? You people are pathetic! Just Cheat, baby!

  28. Hey pops,

I couldn’t agree more. If he was my son –I couldn’t be prouder.
He has handled something most of us would have gone crazy over with class and dignity as he always does.
You did a fine job raising this young man and should be as proud as we are of him as our team leader and QB

Most that watch TB12 over the years feel like we know him—his character and ethics. He has constantly showed class and taken the high road everywhere he has gone and with every question he has fielded

  29. Thank G-D Rodger can’t punish Tom Brandy Sr. for speaking the truth . The intelligent fans know the real truth of why Tom was targeted falsely by the NFL . The so-called fans want to believe that Tom cheated so they can feel better about why their teams can’t beat the Patriots . I feel sorry for them . because in their heart of hearts they know the REAL TRUTH , and as we all know the TRUTH hurts . What these so-called fans should do is find out why their team can’t beat the patriots . I will give you a hint , it starts at the top , look at the owner . Ask yourself why does my team keep losing and never make the playoffs ? Apparently there are some of you would rather put the blame on another team because that is the easy way out and it shows in your ridiculous and childish comments . I hope my thoughts cure your pain . GOOD LUCK .

  30. Roger dosen’t lie. He said Thursday night football is a quality product
    ___________________________________
and that’s why you watch it every week and write about it on chat boards. Scoreboard, Roger!

  31. For all the idiotic haters (well, the few that can read), this is the first trial’s key admission:-
Judge Berman: “What evidence…on January 18?”
NFL lawyer Nash: “No, not for that specific game.”
Judge Berman: “The Wells report relates to only one game. There is no finding in this case that there was anything done by Mr. Brady.”
And the 2nd court merely determined the Commissioner’s power to suspend, not Brady’s guilt – because (see above admission in 1st court).

Meanwhile, Aaron Rogers has not even gotten a warning letter for his admitted long-running improper ball-inflation scheme.

Oh but the Pats are evil because of Spygate? Wrong:
The Jets sideline videoed the Pats from the sideline in late 2006 after the video memo and so the Pats complained, but Tagliabue said it was ok because the Jets weren’t using the film DURING THE GAME but ONLY after the game. And so the very next game in Q1 of wk1 of 2007 when the Pats sideline videoed the Jets, the Jets complain and new Commish Fraudger (dying to nail Belichick for quitting on his Jets) re-interprets same rule and says no, “during the game” means during ANY game thereafter. And in any case the film was taken before it could be used – and teams can still video today from a couple of yards farther away. Spygate was merely Goofdell’s first fraud. The Pats are just better than most teams most of the time, deal with it or stock up on salt tablets.

  32. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has said he’ll wait until after the Super Bowl to share his thoughts about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
    ____________

    Brady never said that.

    What he said was:
“Hopefully we can finish it off and we’ll see. Maybe I’ll tell you after,”

Almost sounded more like he wanted to move on in the line of questioning without just saying No and inviting a bunch of follow ups.

Maybe he will share his thoughts on everything — I sure hope so — but leading everyone to believe that he said he’s waiting until after the game to talk about it just sets him up for looking like he’s going back on his word if he decides not to. The guy’s been smeared enough.

  33. Brady Sr. is THE MAN! More honest words have never been spoken. I can only hope this story is televised over national news channels.

  34. I’m not a huge Tom Brady fan but Goodell lost me in the Ray Rice case…”we didnt know the tape was in the building”….how stupid does he think fans are? Tough spot for a lotta fans..love football, can’t stand the NFL

  35. Nothing he hasn’t said before and every word is true but no matter a parents rage when someone does there son dirty when that son is an adult and has chosen their own way to deal with it you have to respect it. Don’t count on Tom saying much after the SB either, for as long as he wants to continue playing the high road is the one to take.

  36. 2 things.

    1. A text or other communication record does not exist where Brady tells ball boys “under inflate footballs to below legal limit of 12.5 psi”.

In fact in his 10 hour appeal hearing he ultimately told the ball boys to inflate them at the low end. 12.5 psi. Perfectly legal. He indicated he doesn’t squeeze a football. He holds it loosely like a golf club.

    2. The $5 Million Wells Report indicated that 3 of the first 4 footballs measured all came in under the league limit of 12.5 psi.

Nothing came of it. Nothing. This is where this entire thing just collapses. It blows up their case.

Now what does the league do ? How do they save face ? They press on. They must. Its the only thing they could do without embarrassment.

    The phone ?

Would you give the Clown Show know as
    The NFL your phone ?

Hello TMZ ? Check out Giselle in these pics….

  37. Tom Sr. needs to respect the fact that him talking to random reporters in California doesn’t benefit his son one bit. If Jr. wants to take the high road, let him do it without your commentary. We all know Goddell is corrupt, he’s had bad dealings with about half the teams in the league in the last 5 years…

  38. The entire NFL is corrupt… Roger Goodell is just a puppet on a string to the shysty owners holding cities and fans hostage while denying CTE , and cutting a billion dollar check to keep it quiet.

  39. Much respect for Brady Sr. Goodell is a black mark on this sport and pushes his power around like it’s a broom. He punishes based on the player or team that player is on, not by “league rules”.

Brady was never proven to do wrong, so why was he suspended? Because Goodell wanted the Pats to lose the first 4 games so they would have an uphill road to climb to make the playoffs, how did that work out for ya Baddell?

I’m not a Pats fan by any means, and I hope Atlanta wins the SB, but fair is fair, and Baddell is anything but fair.

  40. He’s probably the guy who yelled at the umpires at the little league games too.

You raised the biggest cheater in the history of the game, bro. Own that!

  41. Wrong. Your SON continually lied, cheated AND destroyed evidence.
    ———–
The proven lies, half-truths, inconsistencies and lack of disclosure on the NFL side of this issue are all well known (and, in some aspects, even documented) while on the Brady side, I haven’t really seen much of anything beyond some other guy going into a men’s room for 100 seconds.

I don’t know of ANY lies coming from Brady. Claiming “destroyed evidence” is based on the presumption that there ever was any evidence beyond what the NFL already had via the other phones (that showed there really wasn’t any evidence). Without lies or evidence how can you say somebody cheated (unless you really don’t care about those things)?

  42. Why wasn’t the Deflator called the Inflator or some other nickname? Why “Deflator” specifically?

    ——————————————————

Funny I don’t picture a Court having “swag” and the fact that a presumably grown man uses the word “swag” is quite concerning.

There is nothing arrogant about Brady or his family, you are just a Hater, plain and simple.

  44. Love the discontented haters. As a New fan whose lived through 1-15, 2-14, and an absolute garbage product on the field year in, year out, we have zero sympathy for crybaby nation. When even the cartel and their puppet can’t rip the Lamar Hunt from NE through their witch hunts, it’s probably time to just man up, shut up, and demand the same from your own franchises.

  45. The dishonesty on both sides is ridiculous. The Patriots deflated balls and tried to conceal it. Brady was definitely aware, though it’s highly doubtful they got any advantage from it. Also, no one cares (including those of who don’t like the Patriots).

On the other side of this sh*tshow, Goodell and the NFL are absurdly corrupt, lying pieces of scum. You have a $10 Billion a year industry that has incompetent officials, bilks taxpayers out of tens of billions, and has an increasingly mediocre product. Goodell is an ambulance chasing pencil pusher who makes more than any player in the league. Sounds about right.

  46. …And the Patriots have constantly been caught cheating (taping, deflating, destroying phones for no good reason) and there is probably a ton more done even know. Sounds like a match made in heaven.. a lair and a cheater (organization)

  47. “… the reality is that Tommy never got suspended for deflating footballs. He got suspended because the court said that he could, Roger Goodell could do anything that he wanted to do to any player for any reason whatsoever. That’s what happened. The NFL admitted they had no evidence on him.”

The absolute truth, said at absolutely the wrong time.
Trolls can have at it but Brady was not found guilty of anything other than being a member of a union with a badly written CBA. If you want to find the liar here read the transcript of Brady’s NFL appeal hearing that the league believed they could keep sealed then read Roger’s decision. The arbitration decision flat out lies about the testimony given. No ifs ands or buts, straight up documented lies. Trolls can mock Sr all they like but ask yourself this, what if that were your kid Roger was lying about?

  48. Honestly, I’ve been following this travesty known as Deflategate for two flipping years and I couldn’t have put it any better than Brady, Sr. just did.

That being said, the way the Patriots have responded is amazing. Goodell should give Tom four games off every year. They went 14-2 and had the best record in the league and a favorable playoff path with both games at home. He was fresh and ready when he returned and looks pretty good for Sunday’s big game.

Yeah, Rog, how’d that work out? Roger, you may have inadvertently handed this team the AFC Championship and a great shot at another Super Bowl title. Go Patriots!

  49. Not sure why this would get deleted the last time I posted it but: Shocking that a father would take his son’s side in a dispute, Mr. Brady is clearly a biased, and therefore not credible, source of information on this topic.

  50. I’ll tell you what I always find amusing. Whenever anyone defends Brady, they can point to countless errors / lies / science / fabrications / leaks from the NFL. These are objective and cannot be disputed.

When people say that Brady cheats, is a liar, etc, there are never any supporting facts. I wonder why this is?

Please, everyone that posts that Brady cheats, dazzle us all with your objective, proven facts.

By the way, what father doesn’t stick up for his son when he was wronged. I am sure he was doing an interview about his son in the big game again, and was asked a question about Goodell. He answered the question honestly. Unreal that people can’t appreciate that.

Why do you watch NFL football and come to NFL related websites and post comments on them then? If you truly believed what you’re saying and you had morals and principals I would think you would boycott everything having to do with the league

  52. What dad wouldn’t stand up for their son when his integrity is attacked with lies that were exposed in federal court. The NFL admitted under oath they had NO evidence against Brady. Then they went after him for not producing a personal cell phone and suspended him for that even though Favre was only given a 50k fine for doing same thing. I’ve learned that eventually the truth always comes out somehow or someway when people and big organizations issue lies repeatedly.

  53. OK Patriot hating adults that act like children, follow along.
Judge Berman asks NFL attorney Daniel Nash, “What is the direct evidence that implicates Mr Brady,”
Nash had to admit that no evidence exists where Brady directly ordered a team employee to deflate the balls.
Funny how, in the mind of a hater, deflater means to deflate footballs below the legal PSI and not deflate them to the lowest legal PSI! Don’t you just hate common sense!!
What about the phone? If Brady contacted the ball boys, it would be on their phones because this info is saved. Look at your own cell phones, doesn’t it save your texts messages that are sent and received?? Also, why did Ted Wells say the phone records would be good enough AND Brady brought the phone records to his appeal but Goodell, who hired Wells, wanted the phone. Grow up children. Patriot’s rule and this game isn’t going to be close

  54. It’s comical that the trolls bring no facts to the table. Just bad material worthy of Chelsea Handler. You make yourself look bad. That’s how you roll. And yes, Brady will get his 5th SB next week. Count on it. So keep amusing, clowns. Dance a little, too. That’s how you roll. Am I right or am I right?

  55. If this article was posted with the expectation that there would be intelligent commentary from the Tom Brady envying trolls then someone must be sorely disappointed.

  56. Why wasn’t the Deflator called the Inflator or some other nickname? Why “Deflator” specifically?
    ——————–
    Who called him the “deflator”?

  57. Brady’s actual testimony regarding why he talked to Jastremski (that we were never supposed to see):
“[Jastremski] was the person that prepared the footballs and like I said, the initial report was that none of the Colts’ balls were deflated, but the Patriots’, all the Patriots’ balls were. So I was trying to figure out what happened. [It] was certainly my concern [to attempt] to figure out, you know, what could be – possibly could have happened to those balls.”

What Goodell wrote in his arbitration decision regarding that testimony:
“The sharp contrast between the almost complete absence of communications through the AFC championship game undermines any suggestion during the three days following the AFC championship game that the communications addressed only preparation of footballs for the Super Bowl rather than the tampering allegations and their anticipated responses to inquiries about the tampering,”

    ======================

McNally called himself the Deflator in a text to JJ. “Help the Deflator out.”

And Wells never asked Brady to turn over his phone. He asked that someone on Brady’s side search the phone for texts related to ball prep, psi, deflation etc. and turn only those texts over to Wells. So quit lying about turning phones over.

  61. The league has made your family millionaires. Shut the hell up and quit whining about a four game suspension. Playing in the NFL is a privilege not a right.

  62. “Why wasn’t the Deflator called the Inflator or some other nickname? Why “Deflator” specifically?”

Assuming that actually happened, and I haven’t seen evidence that it did, perhaps it was because the officials before this witch hunt routinely just pumped up balls until they were hard – well above the range specified in the rule book – and the ball guy had to DEflate them down to specs much more often than INflate them. (see Jets game texts from the prior season if you care )

  63. I for one want to see a followup story on “The Deflator” Jim McNally.
So… How is his weight loss regimen coming?
Is it working or is he still a fat pig?

  64. I like Brady more now that he’s taken a semi-passive stance against the popular kids who want to shame him for his friends but even I gotta admit he cheated. The Patriots cheat a little bit. Their run has an asterisk. Pats fans can’t wink and admit it like Jordan would when he’d work over the refs. Instead they insist they’re pure. Cheating is a talent all it’s own. They are the heels of the NFL. Just like a Boston cop who beats a perp they have that “admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations” mentality. Not to quibble, but the NFL did not ask for his phone. They asked for certain content relating to the matter under investigation (text messages and emails). They even gave Brady the option of having his attorney (Yee) go through the messages/emails first. As posted on PFT in an article on 5/7/15, here is a quote from Yee: “Any information we would have provided, and the Wells investigative team did ask us to go through Tom’s phone on our own and provide them with information if we chose to go that route. But as you might surmise if we would have chosen to go that route, any information we would have given them, they probably would have had skepticism about anyway.”

  67. Viewership is down across the NFL, and Roger Goodell is on to blaming Kaepernick for that too (after Roger got busted for lying about concussion data, Ray Rice video, and Deflategate). Everybody is supposed to take responsibility for their actions except Roger of course. Brady Sr is spot on, but not just about Deflategate. Roger Goodell is the most patronizing unethical commissioner that professional sports has ever seen, and fans are starting to move n to another sport because of it.

  68. It’s reprehensible that Brady lied under oath.

Brady said he only knew McNally the Deflator by face and didn’t know his game day responsibilities. Both McNally and JJ, the other equipment guy and Brady’s friend said Brady and McNally knew each other and his game day role. They later claimed Brady knew him by his nickname Bird or Burt. If Brady knew him by his nickname why did he testify under oath he only knew him by face.

    Fact: Brady lied under oath.

  69. Why wasn’t the Deflator called the Inflator or some other nickname? Why “Deflator” specifically?

    Why?

…the responsibility of the ballboy is to prep new balls to get them to where QB likes them.
NFL regulation balls are shipped ‘hard as rocks’… and most NFL QBs ‘work’ or have ballboys work on balls to get to desired condition ….within the regs..including rubbing and adjusting inflation level.

So if the Falcons win, will Patriot fans say that the game was rigged and the conspiracy continues so Goodell didn’t have to hand the trophy to the Kraft?

This is what is going to happen on this site.

If the Falcons win the overwhelming majority of Pats fans who post on this site will give a thumbs up congratulations to Falcons fans.

If the Pats win there will be a handful of congratulations from non-Pats fans, but the overwhelming majority of non-Pats fans will continue with their same uninformed trolling about the Pats and their fans that we have been seeing for years on this site.

    ——————–
    Who called him the “deflator”?

    ======================

  79. what jag1959 posted should be on billboards all over the US for those that don’t know it. Factual, documented, proven lying by Goodell:

  81. That initial leak was a complete fabrication. None of the footballs were as low on pressure as that leak said.

Ask yourselves one simple question about this subject.

Why, after all this time, has not one single sports radio or tv show simple put this to a live test?

Take 3-5 footballs at room temp. Set the air pressure at the low end of legal (because it’s still legal at the low end) and then put them in a refrigerator for two hours. Pull them out one at a time and measure the pressure.

It’s that simple. The ideal gas law tells you what the air pressure should drop to.

If you come up with near the same numbers that the nfl reported the footballs were actually at, then there was no deflate gate.

Why wasn’t the Deflator called the Inflator or some other nickname? Why “Deflator” specifically?

    ————————————————————–
    It wasn’t a nickname.

Many people were duped by the NFL when they made sure that they heard about an out of context off season text message where that word was used once.

Contrary to what some people believe, a guy that has a job of inflating and deflating footballs to get them within the mandated PSI range should be able to use the word “deflator” for whatever stupid reason that he wants to.

  83. Not one negative poster has anything other than,’I think he did it’. Either because the ballboy went to P before standing on the field for 90 mins, there was a 1x reference to the ‘deflator’ during May of the offseason or Brady destroyed his phone that they said they didn’t want, that they weren’t entitled to. They believe this flimsy evidence not by being objective, but because they want to. Brady’s father was right. It was a witch hunt and a joke. They courts had to rule Goodell has the power to do whatever he wants, lying included. I suspect Brady feels the same way as his father, and rightly so.

  84. If he didn’t know McNally by name, he surely didn’t know what McNally’s gameday responsibilities were.

If they asked Brady who Bird (or Burt) was, he surely would have answered “yes” and that he surely would have known Bird’s (or Burt’s) gameday responsibilities were.

It’s reprehensible that you can’t seem to (or, more likely, refuse to) distinguish between these two situations and just say “liar”.

  85. BOTH Goodell and Brady LIED to the Court.

Goodell lied on the witness stand to protect the NFL. Brady lied or cheated the truth with the Court when he destroyed the phone (evidence).

They are both guilty of lying or not being truthful or forthcoming to the US Court system. They both deserve the criticism they receive in the public.

Sorry Brady lovers….your boy is not clean either. Goodell is just a bad person who has chosen greed/profits/ego over doing the right thing. This is the common choice by most of corporate USA.

  87. Wow……lots of butt-hurt fans of other pathetic teams on this thread! Let me ask you fans something…..does claiming that Brady cheated make you feel better about the performances of your own pathetic teams? Really?

  88. Every time I am offended by reprehensible behavior, I make myself feel better by doing a Scrooge McDuck dive into a swimming pool full of cash.

  89. Both sides are at fault. Brady and the Patriots legion acting like he is a saint and did nothing wrong are delusional. Rules were broken and evidence was covered up. IMHO what happened was not that big of a deal and nowhere close to cheating, but it was still against the rules. The NFL absolutely went overboard in their witch hunt and bogus investigation. This was more about sticking it to the Patriots culture of pushing and breaking the rules… so if you want to blame anyone this is on Bellichick for allowing a culture of stepping over the line to gain advantages over their opponents.

  90. No matter what anyone says, we all know this:

Brady is motivated what he sees as unfair punishment by Goodell.

    Brady dislikes Roger Goodell.

    Roger Goodell despises Tom Brady.

If the two of them meet after a Patriots win next Sunday, Roger Goodell will be very uncomfortable.

If the Patriots win, Roger Goodell will NOT attend the first home game on Thursday night in Week #1 at Gillette Stadium, where the banner is raised. He will claim that he doesn’t want to be the story or detract from a special day for the Patriots. Roger will be at the alternate venue where there are opening festivities and bands, etc.

Bottom line is that this will not end in 2017.

  91. Just the facts…

    Roger Goodell lies
    Roger Goodell destroyed evidence
    Tom Brady destroyed evidence
The Patriots have been caught cheating more than once
    The Patriots flat out win.
Tom Brady is a Great quarterback
Bill Belichick is a Great coach

Can we just move on and get pumped for the Super Bowl?

  92. Ok so the delusion runs in the family.

How come TB11.5’s dad (and any Patriot fan) never mentions The Deflator™ or the fact that some Patriot equipment manager runs into the bathroom with a bag full of footballs just prior to handing them to the refs?

There are texts between him and Tammy. But he had to throw that phone in a lake like Aaron?

How delusional are you chowder heads to keep bringing this up?
This is incredibly damaging to the guy you guys keep propping up as GOAT. The 4 game suspension was upheld by the highest courts.
This wasn’t a Goodell witch hunt. Every owner in the league agrees that the Patriots cheat. Now run along and enjoy your beatdown.

  93. In the future, a best-selling movie will FOREVER PRESERVE the disgraceful actions of the current NFL office and forever preserve the excellence of this Great Football Team.

Since the end of the first half of the game in question: Brady 78 Touchdowns, 14 Interceptions; two AFC Championship WINS; Super Bowl WIN; helped his team win enough games to play in the 2016 AFC Championship game, plus 16 wins this year and another trip to this year’s Super Bowl.

    DEFLATEGATE FACTS:

During 19 January, 2015 (day after AFC Championship Game), an official letter sent to Mr. Kraft from the senior vice president of NFL operations (David Gardi) informed the Patriots that an investigation will be conducted.

    1. FACT: On page two, the letter states the following: … “each of the Colts’ game balls that was inspected met the requirements set forth.”

That statement turns out to be totally not true. Page 8, of the Wells report confirms that 3 of the 4 Colts’ footballs were in fact deflated. Who from the NFL office directed to stop testing the Colts’ remaining 8 footballs???

    2. FACT: The NFL has finally admitted that they DID NOT know anything about the Ideal Gas Law (IGL). That admission is incredible!

    3. FACT: Brady was found guilty by the NFL office based on “ASSUMPTIONS AND DATA THAT IS UNCERTAIN” (quote Wells Report).

    4. What would you do if someone in your family was accused and deemed guilty based on “ASSUMPTIONS AND DATA THAT IS UNCERTAIN” (quote Wells Report)? Could you accept that???

    5. Why wouldn’t Brady turn his cell phone in? …… Would you provide your cell phone to folks that you know are not truthful (19 Jan. letter, etc.)???

    6. FACT: NFL announces creation of PSI rules shortly before leaking story that Brady “destroys” phone. Thus, the public quickly forgets the NFL admits they had no PSI rules or knowledge of the Ideal Gas Law.

    7. This is AMERICA and King Roger and Troy Vincent are NOT bigger than our great Country! The Missouri Supreme Court, in a separate case, stated in May, 2015: …. “the terms of the contract designating the NFL commissioner, an employee of the team owners, as the sole arbitrator with unfettered discretion to establish the rules for arbitration are unconscionable and, therefore, unenforceable”.

In the future, a best-selling movie will FOREVER PRESERVE the disgraceful actions of the current NFL office and forever preserve the excellence of this Great Football Team.

  94. For those of you that think Brady cheated – I have one simple question, that I doubt you will answer:

The average psi of the Patriot footballs at halftime using the gauge that Walt Anderson recalls using was 11.49.

If you think the footballs were deflated, then what should the psi have been?

  95. My son is 45 years old. Would I come to his defense? In a heartbeat! On the other hand, Tom Brady says he has moved on from this issue, and his actions support that. I respect him for that. I don’t think we will get any comments from him about the commissioner until long after he has retired–if ever. If his father’s timeline is different, that’s his prerogative.

Why do people overlook the fact that Aaron Rodgers messed with footballs as well?
    ————————-

Because they don’t want to overreact.

We have the Colts with “under-inflated” footballs, Rodgers knowingly over-inflating footballs, and the Steelers with “under-inflated” footballs, yet the NFL doesn’t do a thing about it.

The simple answer is that nether of those teams pose any threat to the “parity” of the league.

  97. Jan 28, 2017 9:31 AM
Why wasn’t the Deflator called the Inflator or some other nickname? Why “Deflator” specifically?

You want a plausible explanation ? Could it be he is the ball boy that lowers the psi level down to 12.5 when Brady asks ?

Anything illegal about lowering ball pressure to 12.5 ?

  98. Perfect example right there. The phone was not evidence, it wasn’t a trial. Brady provided transcripts, Wells said he cooperated fully and Brady was told they didn’t need his phone.

Brady was originally suspended for being more probably than no,t generally aware of a scheme to deflate FBs. Goodell had decided he was guilty before Wells crossed the threshold. Only when science started blowing up the supposed original evidence, did the spinmeister-in-chief move the goalposts and decided Brady was being suspended for not cooperating and hurting the integrity(LOL) of the game. Flat out lied.

    ====================

No one was entitled to that phone, it is smoke and mirrors. Favre didn’t turn over his and the investigation involved sexting. Look at what the league did with an email about a pool cover for God’s sake. In the age of TMZ any superstar athlete married to a super model that handed over his phone to the duplicitous clowns involved in framegate should immediately have been drug tested.

  100. the issue of the phone is hooey

    • Brady’s text messages were printed and provided to Wells
    • All text messages between Brady and ballboys were on the phones of the ballboys…
    • the ballboys phones were given to NFL and examined
    • Wells declined needing Brady’s phone
    • Like millions of phone owners, Brady upgraded his phone
    • As a matter of principle and regular practice, Brady destroyed the old one: to protect his privacy.
    • Brady was not compelled to produce his phone
    • the NFL was engaged in a scheme to knowingly lie about Brady, ball psi and related disclosures and leaks to media
    • the NFL was an outrageously insecure entity to entrust with private communications
    • a host of other players refused to hand over phones
    • NFLPA constraints, re: precedent
    • use of extended middle finger to communicate sentiments to NFL orifices

  101. I agree, he is–but as long as they keep winning Super Bowls…and as long as Kraft owns Goodell (which he does–Kraft knows damned well Tom Brady thrives off the old ‘chip-on-shoulder’ scheme–folks need to notice that the Pats always do so much better when Goodell ‘persecutes’ them!

  102. 01. Start with millions of biased fans of 31 teams that have watched Tom Brady and the Patriots become more successful than their favorite teams since 2000 when Tom Brady was drafted.
    02. Pretend that the Colts footballs were not also deflated even after allowing them to warm up while the Patriots footballs were being measured.
    03. Know that many people are not intelligent enough to understand 7th grade science.
    04. Understand that it’s easier to lie to people than to later convince them that they were lied to.
    05. Dupe all biased fans of 31 teams if they are also gullible with an orchestrated media spin campaign that puts a false story which contradicts proven science in every media outlet in the country for over 6 months before the 2 PSI information is corrected.
    06. Add red herring #1 – persuade many otherwise intelligent people to ignore science while being distracted by a single out of context off season text message.
    07. Add red herring #2 – feed the dupes even more nonsense by proclaiming “Brady destroyed his phone”. Count on only a few intelligent people to recognize that the telephone was irrelevant.
    08. Determine that few people will have enough intelligence to understand that the NFL had no right to examine a personal telephone.

  103. I find it so funny that the MEDIA is still driving this story into the dirt….
The Patriots are in ANOTHER Super Bowl ( the 7TH) under the Brady/ BB era & it just KILLS the fans of other teams as well as the other OWNERS…..
The NFL League has done just about everything it can to bring down the Patriots & yet continue to fail….
It would be wonderful to see the Patriots actually win their 5th Championship & watch FRAUGER hand the trophy to Brady!!!!

  104. And your son’s team constantly cheats and Everytime they blame someone else or they say everyone is doing it he got caught it’s no one’s fault but his SR. Why do Pats fans (I’m one btw)think what he said is remotely the same thing? It’s not so please let’s stop with that. Makes us no better than the “haters” with their alternate facts.

However you would think if Brady actually wanted his footballs outside the legal range we would have heard from an official or 2, or from someone, that “Well the Patriots did present footballs that needed inflating quite often”
We didnt hear anything like that and actually in that report it is made very clear Brady wanted them at 12.5. No idea how it is his fault if they werent but Goodell makes it up as he goes, I think everyone would agree on that

    ======================
Fact homer boys that you can’t understand.

    1. Jim McNally who called himself the Deflator only game day responsibility was to safeguard the footballs. It was not his role to inflate or deflate the footballs.

    2. They never asked Brady to turn over his phone. They wanted someone like Yee who was Brady’s agent to search for texts and emails related to ball prep, psi, deflation etc. This was no longer possible after Brady destroyed the phone.

    3. Brady lied about knowing McNally and his role. Both McNally and the other equipment guy JJ said Brady knew McNally and his role. Brady testified under oath he only knew McNally by face and later it was said by his nickname Bird or Burt. If he knew him by his nickname why did he only say he knew him by face under oath.

    4. The Patriots didn’t fully cooperate and neither did Brady. Wells asked for a 2nd interview with McNally at ANY place and ANY time. They refused. Brady destroyed his phone.

Innocent people don’t lie and they fully cooperate. Further Brady dropped the final appeal for “personal” reasons. Why didn’t he say I can’t win but I swear I didn’t do it. His personal reasons was he knew he was guilty.

If you believe any reference to deflating by JM must be about letting air out of footballs, please explain what JM was suggesting JJ should do. Keep in mind at that time the footballs were being held by a Green Bay in the officials’ locker room at the time.

Hint: “Deflate and give somebody that jkt” can’t have anything to do with footballs.

My point? EVERYONE involved needs to just let it “dry out” and let the past be the past. Brady needs to prepare for a VERY good Falcons team and not have these things interfere with his preparations.

Because Aaron Rodgers, unlike anyone associated with the Patriots, actually admitted to trying to break the rules.

There isn’t one shred of evidence, credible or otherwise, that shows that Tom Brady wanted footballs at a psi below 12.5.

Then you have to look past all of the comments that a deflated football is easier to throw, catch, and hold on to.

If that were the case, why would Aaron Rodgers deliberately put himself, and his receivers and running backs at a disadvantage?

The 2nd circuit determined the CBA allowed for Roger to deal punished without due process or fundamental fairness. The players will think twice with regard to contractual language moving forward.

Did all of the Brady’s distractors attend public school… Their lack of critical thinking skills is glaring.

  130. Ok as expected, no one has answered my question as to what the psi SHOULD have been.

The average psi of the Patriot footballs at halftime using the gauge that Walt Anderson recalls using was 11.49.

According to the Wells report itself, given the conditions they should have measured between 11.32 and 11.52.

So if cheating occurred, how is it possible that the Patriot footballs measured on the high end of their own range?

I agree with you on all that just saying there is a difference between what Rodgers said and what the Pats were accused of. Trying to get “illegal” balls by the refs isnt nearly the same as (allegedly) messing with them after inspection.

  134. That Tom Senior is merely restating the obvious should not be considered controversial – that a lot of people want to stay in denial about Goodell’s character assassination of the Patriots is also deplorable.

I’d stick up for my son too, so understandable. But the Patriots are known worldwide as cheaters. There’s a reason Kraft is banned from casinos in the Balkans and throughout the Caribbean, as well as Vegas. Also, Google the story behind Putin and his ring, more there than originally reported.
    ———————

That’s rich, coming from a fan of the cheatingest franchise in the NFL.

  136. The biggest problem is that the NFL compared the Patriots footballs to 4 of the Colts footballs.

The Colts footballs were also found to be deflated on January 18, 2015. The PSI in the Colts footballs was not as low as the PSI in the Patriots footballs. That comparison is what led the NFL to incorrectly assume that someone let air out of the Patriots footballs. The NFL assumed the discrepancy was due to cheating and the NFL was wrong.

A few problems with the NFL comparing the PSI drops in the Colts footballs to those of the Patriots:
    • The NFL didn’t consider the fact that the 4 Colts footballs were allowed to warm up indoors while the 11 Patriots footballs were being measured twice.
    • The NFL didn’t consider the fact that the footballs belonging to the 2 teams were treated differently during the game. The Colts footballs were being kept dry in a bag for much of the 1st half while the Patriots footballs were getting rained on.
    • Wind chill makes thing that are exposed to wind get colder. The Patriots footballs were out in the wind.
    • The 4 Colts footballs that were measured may have been the driest of the 12 Colts footballs. Human nature would likely lead a person to select a dry football over a wet football
    • Evaporative cooling makes things that are wet get colder. This would make a more significant drop in PSI.
    • It is also known that when leather gets wet it can stretch. Tests have shown that leather footballs can increase in volume up to 3%. This means that the same amount of air is now held in a larger container. That’s another way for PSI to drop in addition to the drop from the lower temperature.
    • The NFL didn’t consider the fact that the Colts were the visiting team. This means that their footballs were outside prior to being measured prior to the game. This means that they would have been colder and would not drop in temperature as much and lose as much PSI.

  137. He may be a piece of crap . He makes so much money for the 32 owners, they don’t care. Anyone who loves football and knows the difference between right and wrong could do his job……For a lot less money.

  138. For starters, terrible Tommy’s daddy shouldn’t be involved with little Tommys professional business. If big Tommy didn’t spoil his kid rotten he wouldn’t have to be coming to his defense at this time. Tom sr should step back and view what he is saying and realize his son is a bit too old to have daddy shielding him from this terrible word. Maybe he should’ve advised his boy to play game according to the rules!!!

  139. The depth to which Patriot fans have gone to read trial lawyer like in all this, is absolutely hilarious. It’s a QB and his ball boy nicknamed the deflator.
Tom had the chance back during 2weeks up to Super Bowl 49 to play it down while admitting he had a part in the shenanigans. No. He made the decision to deny everything under the sun. Shut up already Pat fan!

Chippy I need to apologize to you. Here I thought your life was just one obsession to all things Patriots. That your life revolved around making senseless comments aimed at getting attention you sorely needed. But I was wrong. That you referred to CNN and inferred they were a “fake news” organization clearly show’s you also spend time in the basement getting your news at the alternate facts network and this explains a lot about your propensity to simply make things up. Good boy Chippy, expand your interest’s. Someday you might even enter the world of reality.

  141. The fact is that Goodell did lie…about the depth and scope of Spygate. To totally compromise the legitimacy of 3 Lombardi trophies might have sunk the league. Any subsequent witch hunt is just the normal process of the universe trying to right its self. It’s a nominal stab at justice, because a totally honest league office would be a league office putting a gun to its own head. They can’t just come out and admit that the Pats dynasty is a sham.

then he smashed his cell phone to get rid of the evidence.
    ————————————————————-

It’s always funny to see who was duped by the “smashed phone” marketing campaign.
The NFL already had the 2 team owned phones that were used by the 2 Patriot equipment guys. Which means the NFL already had every text that was sent to or from the “smashed phone” and the 2 equipment guys.

That’s how it works… you don’t need both phones. As a bonus, Tom Brady voluntarily provided paper phone logs from his private phone. Which means the NFL had 2 sources to read any relevant text messages.

The NFL then leaked information from Tom Brady’s phone logs to the media. Including a private text about Payton Manning and a private text about Tom Brady being dissatisfied with a swimming pool cover. The NFL probably leaked that information so that Tom Brady would not trust the NFL and would never surrender his phone.

That way the NFL could subsequently play the “didn’t cooperate” card and dupe even more people. Unless you believe that high priced NFL lawyers are not capable of planning one move ahead.

  143. Brady won the SB right after Framegate.
Brady almost got to the SB last year. Lost by 2 points.
Brady is back to the SB, even after Robber Goodell robbed him of 4 days.

Patriots big cheaters? Broncos number 1, Falcons number 11. Patriots number 15.
    Just so you haters know.

  144. Mark Twain said: “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”
So the NFL was able to get many biased people to believe that Tom Brady was generally aware that Patriots footballs were being deflated. Now none of the following facts can ever convince the willful science denying dupes that they were fooled by Roger Goodell…

    • People living in places that experience cold weather have to add air to their car tires when the temperature drops for the cold season.
    • Anyone that has ever used a microwave has experienced sealed bags of food inflating when they get warm.
    • Anyone that has ever used leather golf or batting gloves has watched them shrink when the leather dries. Which means that they get bigger when they are wet. Footballs are also made of leather.
    • Scientists indicating that the weather explains the deflation. At least 21 scientists were part of a brief submitted to the court.
    • Video evidence where you can watch the Ideal Gas Law crush a soda can, even though the NFL convinced people to deny the existence of the IGL. Try searching the popular online video site for: “The Ideal Gas Law: Crash Course Chemistry #12” (Crash Course). Then watch as science crushes a soda can at 6:15 in the video.
    • Video evidence posted online showing footballs deflating for the cold and then re-inflating when put back where it’s warm. Search for: “Deflate Gate & Why Science Says The Patriots Did Not Tamper With Footballs”. (Then see the science that the NFL convinced many to deny).
    • Engineers have to add expansion joints to bridges so that they can expand and contract from temperature changes. But tiny footballs are not affected by weather according to Roger Goodell.
    • Video evidence posted online showing a metal ball that can pass through a metal ring and then not fit after being heated over a flame. Search for “Heat – Ball & Ring Experiment”
    • It was reported that the Colts footballs were also deflated on January 18, 2015. Even after being allowed to warm up indoors while the Patriots footballs were all measured twice.
    • The Steelers footballs being reported to have deflated from the cold weather on December 5th 2016 in a game against the Giants.
    • The NFL hiding the evidence consisting of the PSI measurements that were obtained in both the 2015 and 2016 NFL seasons.

  145. If you get spanked the way the Colts did and the complaint is about the footballs, you have bigger issues than the footballs.

  146. Funny how they didn’t want to take their case all the way, especially after we were told ad nauseum how easy it was to prove.

  147. Honest Question for Cheetah Nation. NO you, like so many others are consumed with the success of Tom Brady and the Patriots. Goodell proved nothing and to those that think the courts did, you are wrong. The courts only decided that Goodell could do whatever he wants, right OR WRONG, and not if the footballs were deflated. Once again, Patriot Delusion Syndrome(PDS) is impacting many people. They refuse to acknowledge anything that goes against their childish hate of the Patriots and act like no other team has violated a rule.
If you suffer from PDS, explain how Brady has played better as he has gotten older and IS USING properly inflated footballs and HOW DID THE STEELERS FOOTBALLS GET DEFLATED AGAINST THE GIANTS? I don’t expect an answer because some people can’t handle the truth! As I look at it, it’s pretty sad how adults can’t answer these 2 simple questions.

  161. Why shouldn’t Brady’s dad express his opinion. It is his name that Goodell tries to destroy.

Can a logical and level headed Patriot fan please explain how the Steelers not disclosing Bell was dealing with an issue that was not an injury was cheating?
    ——-
IF it WAS injury related, it’s against the rules (just like filming sideline video from the wrong location).
    #########
    Forget whatever the rule is.
    ———-
PIT seems to have done exactly that.
    #########
And let’s say Bell was listed as probable with a groin injury, how would that have changed the gameplan by the Patriots?
    ———
I don’t know because PIT failed to disclose it (in violation of the rules).
    #########
The Steelers had every intention of working Bell to the bone. He carried the ball nearly 60 times in 2 weeks and the Steelers are notorious for sitting guys from practice to rest up. Again, rules and bias aside, what unfair advantage was created?
    ———–
I don’t know. I don’t know that PIT gained an unfair advantage when they cheated by playing against the NYG with underinflated footballs either. (I think the NYG cheated too by checking the PIT footballs.)
    ############
And how is it different than listing a bunch of guys questionable when there is 100% certainty that they will play? That seems more sketchy than what the Steelers did although I think it is brilliant.
    —————-
Not sure where “100% certainty” and “sketchy” comes from (perhaps YOUR bias is showing), but most of the NE players listed on their injury report have been listed in prior weeks and have been playing with their injuries. Continuing to list them while still dealing with injuries as NE has done is required by the rules. That’s the difference – it appears that NE complied with the rules while PIT did not. And, as we all know, the rules is the rules.

  168. Boo hoo. Yeah the NFL wants to destroy one of its moneymakers and premium players. Stop bellyaching because there’s foolishness on both sides. NE in another championship game and Brady will be the greatest QB since the merger. No one is conspiring and if they are they’ve failed for 15 years. Poppa Brady needs to let his son deal with his boss instead of railing about some perceived slight.

They don’t overlook it, they just don’t care because in reality it doesn’t mean a hill of beans. Since football games have been played in cold weather or hot weather footballs have been played lower than 12.5psi and higher than 13.5psi. Media, DO YOUR JOB.!! Demand that Goodell release that data, so that everyone can learn the truth.

This data will finally settle this whole issue, with 100% certainty.!
The data will show one of two things:

    A) If the data shows that other teams’ footballs deflated less than the Pats’ footballs for the same weather conditions (i.e., temperature & water exposure), then that is 100% proof that somebody let air out of the footballs.

    B) If the data shows that other teams’ footballs deflated the same amount as the Pats’ footballs for the same weather conditions (i.e., temperature & water exposure), then that is 100% proof that nobody let any air out of the footballs.

Both side get their answer, with 100% certainty.
    __

The data will show … B) above.

That data proves, with 100% certainty, that no air was let out of the Pats’ footballs.

Those who think Brady is guilty:
    Where is your allegiance?
To your hatred of Brady, or to the truth?
Don’t you want to know if Roger & Ted Wells & Exponents Hired Guns have lied to you?

    Show some courage.
Show some integrity.

According to the NFL, in a video on the NFL Network, it is actually used as a term to describe losing weight.

    True story.

    ———————-

We all know that his use of that term once in that one text was not about weight loss. Its ridiculous yo expect anyone to belueve that. But we also know that since this email was months before during the off season it wasnt about game balls either.

Funny how they didn’t want to take their case all the way, especially after we were told ad nauseum how easy it was to prove.

    _______________

Because they were going to lose. The NFL had already admitted they had no case against Brady so their appeal was that per the CBA they could punish him just because they felt like it and didnt need to have a case. The CBA does really say that too (blame the NFLPA for that more than Goodell) so the two judges that upheald the CBA were the correct ones, the one that couldnt stomach what Goodell was doing was the one that failed. (His job is to interpret the law and the CBA, not to like it). Brady wanted to fight because he knew he was innocent and figured that had to count at some point but eventually his lawyers got him to see that the law and CBA wording were against him and his only hope was for the Supreme court to fail to do their job interpreting the law. It was better to not wait for that long shot and instead serve the suspension on his terms (first four games) rather than having it suddendly come back late in the season. (Imagine if it came back right now for instance)

I don’t know if Brady/NE did anything to the footballs or not (although the science seems to prove the footballs were at the expected pressure for the weather conditions), but if you want someone to spout a bunch of lies and connect a whole lot of fictitious dots to jump to the conclusion that Brady/NE are guilty of something (I’m not sure of what exactly), then luckyforus is your girl. She seems to have all the answers that even the Liars Club at NFL HQ admitted they didn’t have.
    ==========================
I’m not a girl and I have been stating facts that were reported by Wells or in the appeal. None of these facts have been disputed. Are you bros mad cause you can’t answer my questions?

And your science argument is questionable at best since anyone can make assumptions but until someone recreates the exact environment those Football were exposed to in the entire 1st half no one can prove the science.

So why did Brady lie about knowing McNally. He said he only knew him by face then said he knew his nickname. And why didn’t Brady or the Patriots fully cooperate.

Please answer those questions Bro. Sorry your guy cheated, lied and got caught.

    ==========================
You’re not a girl? Not that it matters – I was just guessing anyway. But, really?

And you have been stating facts that were reported by Wells or in the appeal and that none of these facts have been disputed? Really? Because regarding the science, the Wells report stated words to the effect that there was no certainty to the science.

And my science argument is questionable at best? I made no argument regarding the science. I used the words “I don’t know” and “it appears”.

So why did Brady lie about knowing McNally? I already posted a logical response a few posts back but anyway … Maybe Brady didn’t lie. (Note: I said MAYBE!!!!!!!!!) If he didn’t know McNally by name, he surely didn’t know what McNally’s gameday responsibilities were. If they asked Brady who Bird (or Burt) was, he surely would have answered “yes” and that he surely would have known Bird’s (or Burt’s) gameday responsibilities were. YOU don’t seem willing to acknowledge this possibility and instead want to just say “liar”.

And why didn’t Brady or the Patriots fully cooperate? Wells said they did (I thought you read “everything” already). And, by the way, McNally was interviewed multiple times. And, it was only after the NFL refused to honor NE’s request to retract the false psi info (that the Liars Club at NFL HQ themselves had authored in the e-mails to NE) that NE recognized they were being railroaded and refused to cooperate any further.

But, then, you already knew at all that. But I still expect your next post to start off “Can you explain …?” anyway.

Me: I can’t explain. I don’t know what happened because have I haven’t seen any proof that anything happened.
You: Well, I read a lot of tidbits here and there and have made a lot of inferences to support my conclusion that I KNOW Brady cheated because he never proved he was innocent.
Me: Uh, OK. Now run along, kiddo.

  194. Lies, lies and more lies. My responses are after each one of your lies.

Then surely you know that the NFL admitted in court they had no evidence against Brady – they said they had no direct evidence. They have plenty of circumstantial evidence.

Surely you know that the NFL admits they issued false information to the media stating 11 of 12 footballs were deflated – The NFL never admitted this

Surely you know that Wells stated Brady cooperated fully, that the NFL did not want or need Brady’s phone and that he was free to do what he wanted with it as long as he brought transcripts of all relevant texts – Wells said Brady cooperated EXCEPT for the phone

Surely you know that when Brady did so, Goodell did an about face and demanded the phone once it was no longer available – a blatant attempt to frame Brady and fool more gullible fans – not true. Goodell nor Wells ever asked for possession of the phone.

Surely you know that the NFL, after offering to share PSI data, now refuses since it shows what scientists from 50 independent Universities have confirmed – there was no unnatural deflation – who cares. This proves nothing because the environmental conditions are different everywhere and we know footballs deflate in cold.

Surely you know that the NFL accepted Walt Anderson’s memory about 24 PSI levels down to the 10th of a percent as fact – but then on the simple question of which guage he used, determined that his memory was suddenly faulty and they would assume his “best recollection” was wrong – it wasn’t memory on the psi readings. He wrote them down.

Surely you know that Eli Manning’s “Deflators” proudly state that they do not let footballs out of their sight on game day, taking them everywhere with them – even the bathroom – Irrelevant

As to the question of direct and circumstantial evidence, let me make this simple for you.

The direct evidence proves the footballs were never deflated as the PSI is exactly where experts say it should have been given the conditions.

As for circumstantial evidence? Who cares. The direct evidence says nothing happened.

  202. I can’t believe anyone is still believing the crap that Roger Goodell is shoveling. I know people hate the Patriots but C’mon and open your eyes.

Somehow, Goodell lied about everything else, from the Ray Rice tape to concussions to Thursday Night Football but he is telling the truth here? Give me a break. Goodell is a habitual liar.

He conducted a sting operation of the Patriots on an issue the NFL never cared about before, and never tested footballs for PSI in-game before, and never even told the players about the bogus PSI rule, but somehow the NFL goes crazy because Brady may or may not have let a little air out of some footballs? Give me a break.

Everyone involved with the sting operation had an ulterior motive for going after the Patriots. Goodell wanted to get back in the owners’ good graces after screwing up Ray Rice. Mike Kensil, the Jet fan in the NFL front office, has always hated Belichick and has been looking for a reason to stick it to him. Troy Vincent who dissed out the Brady punishment has not forgotten losing to them in the Super Bowl in 04 and thinks they cheated. And John Harbaugh was angry at Brady for calling him out to study the rule book.

People are being brainwashed by the anti-Patriot Goodell propaganda but Patriot fans know the truth.

  203. luckyforus says:

It’s reprehensible that Brady lied under oath.

Brady said he only knew McNally the Deflator by face and didn’t know his game day responsibilities. Both McNally and JJ, the other equipment guy and Brady’s friend said Brady and McNally knew each other and his game day role. They later claimed Brady knew him by his nickname Bird or Burt. If Brady knew him by his nickname why did he testify under oath he only knew him by face.

    Fact: Brady lied under oath.

    ==========

That actually is not proof of anything. Goodell’s lying was actually provable and blantant.

Why do you support Goodell’s word in the face of so many, many instances of dishonesty that you refuse to address?

Fact Goodell has lied in court and to the public numerous times.

Goodell lied about Brady speaking about Deflategate with the equipment guys which is clearly shown in the appeal proceedings he presided over. There is no interpretive wiggle room. Goodell just plain said the opposite of what happened. Either Goodell is forgetful or stupid, either one is a bad look.

Goodell also lied and/or played dumb in the Rice hearing when, under oath, he was adamant the NFL did everything they could to get the 2nd tape, and yet played dumb as to what a “formal request” was when his security head had already told him they didn’t formally reach out to law enforcement.

More Goodell greatest hits include: suppressing concussion research, bungling bullygate, bountygate, Josh Brown and Greg Hardy, helping owners hide $100mil from players shared revenue pool, lying about caring about player safety, somehow concluding Thursday night football not only was completely safe, but was of higher quality than the rest of the week’s games (my new favorite)

Why were the only scientists who agree with the NFL the same ones that drew a check from the NFL?

Why did Goodell repeatedly lie to the public and in court if his case was honest?

With the NFL’s strategy throughout being leak everything you can to make Brady look bad, why haven’t they released the PSI data? If it helped their case, it would be their character to release it.

Why weren’t the Colts punished for tampering with the Pats balls? or the Giants with the Steelers balls this year? It’s illegal to stick a needle into your own balls, nevermind your opponents, especially during a game.

Why was Wells called “independent” when his colleague Reisner represented the NFL at the appeal and Pash was allowed to edit the report?

And just stop with the “2nd interview” business. It was a FIFTH interview, and the Pats said fine, but now under their conditions. Wells didn’t like the conditions and said no.

By taking your stance you are saying the disastrous history of Goodell led investigations is not important.

    ____________________________________

It took me way too long, but I now realize that it isn’t necessary to rely on Anderson’s memory. The data in the Wells/Exponent report is sufficient to prove which gauge was used. It’s too complicated and confusing to go through in detail, but here’s how it’s done.

Exponent’s transient curve can be used to calculate the temperature of the Pats’ footballs (plus or minus two degrees) when they were inflated to 13 psi at halftime. Once the temperature of the Pats’ footballs at halftime is determined, the postgame psi measurements of the Pats’ footballs can be used to determine the temperature of the Colts’ footballs when there were measured at halftime.

Knowing the postgame temperature of the Colts’ footballs, one can predict (plus or minus .1 psi) what the psi of the Colt’s footballs would be at the pregame locker room temperature of 69 degrees.

Here’s the bottom line. The Colts’ footballs only reach their pregame level of 13 psi if Walt Anderson was right about which gauge he used.

NFL lawyers admitted the NFL out right refused to correct the report even after the Patriots lawyers pleaded for a correction. NFL lawyers gave no explanation other than “let Wells work”, which doesn’t even make sense since the information was well known by the NFL already. Wells wasn’t trying to investigate what the PSI was, he knew what it was already. Pats wanted a correction and the NFL refused. They were at least complicit in spreading the lie in their refusal to correct and, its very likely since very few people were privy to the information, that the Mort tweet info came from within the NFL.

    ============================

That’s easy. 3/4 footballs on one gauge were slightly below 12.5 so effectively 3/8 measurements were slightly below easily explained by the IGL. The Colts having a needle is like jaywalking. I’m sure if you reviewed the equip mgr for the Colts texts he wasn’t called the Deflator.

Yeah not only did Godell NOT tell the truth here (to put it nicely) that also shows they already had the communications between Brady and these guys. It actually says they rarely talked before the AFCCG. Wouldnt that be when they would be talking about doing it? before the game? hello?

So if you believe Brady “destroyed evidence” you are believing he actually texted someone not even involved in this nefarious scheme-heck someone not even in the org since they evrybody’s phone to go through- to take point 2 PSI out of only some of the footballs.

who the heck would buy that?

the patriots org are one of the main reasons the nfl has gone to hell.
cheating cheapens the game. loss of integrity.
the very fact that this is such a heated debate just shows you how many people believe they are cheaters.
i dont care what side of the fence you are on, the delusional patriot fan or the sane rest of the fans – this discussion is bad for football.
teams like the donkeys, patriots and any others that are proven cheaters should have any gains from those acts removed. trophies included.
    ================================
I love how the loss of integrity always falls at the feet of the Patriots. SMH Despite the fact the NFL has a commissioner that couldn’t legislate player discipline the same way twice if his life depended on it. Which is coincidentally similar to how refs legislate rules inconsistently from one game to the next. Additionally, the NFL wants us to believe that CTE isn’t directly related to the sport despite mountains of evidence proving otherwise. So, no. This discussion isn’t about cheating and how it diminishes the integrity of the NFL. This discussion is about one of many examples of how the NFL commissioner has eroded the integrity of the game all on his own. Well before framegate. People need to get a wholesale grip on “cheating” in the form of bountygate, spygate and deflategate. Every single one of them existed decades before this commissioner decided to make a name for himself by going after low hanging fruit that never mattered in the grand scheme of things.

  221. No one can explain to me how Goodell pursuing this benefits him if it’s not true. How can branding your best player on your best team as a cheater help your brand? As well as subjecting yourself to ridicule. Any normal CEO would tell the world – we checked into it – it was nothing – move on. You don’t strive to hurt your business. BUT because he did cheat – and the integrity of the game is vital to it’s survival(aka gambling) Goodell felt he needed to pursue it. If Brady had just admitted it – no biggie – but because he fought tooth and nail – Goodell had to go all in. There’s a rule about the inflation of the ball – Brady violated it – that’s that.

The NFL was able to secure a federal court ruling that says Article 46 allows it to impose any punishment it sees fit. Because these cases are handled under arbitration rules, this is true even if the ruling flies in the face of the facts of the case. Courts have no power to overturn an arbitration ruling, even if the ruling is clearly incorrect (that’s why your credit card company makes you agree to arbitration).

This benefits the NFL in many ways, including giving it a powerful negotiating position when the CBA comes up for renewal. For example, if the players want a change to the arbitration clause, they may have to accept an 18 game schedule to get it.

The fact that there was no tapering with the footballs add to the benefit of the court ruling … a big plus for the NFL.

  223. Roger Goodell seems to mention “integrity” and transparency” often. Then Roger Goodell and the NFL demonstrate zero integrity and zero transparency when Roger Goodell and the NFL decide to keep the PSI information collected during the 2015 NFL season secret.

It’s not possible to have any credibility while making promises of “integrity” and ” transparency” when you keep that information from football fans just because it proves that the NFL made a huge mistake.

The NFL can still fix their mistake. Just release the PSI information immediately. If the PSI information shows that footballs never lose PSI when it’s cold then it reinforces their argument.

If the PSI information shows that footballs can lose PSI when it’s cold & wet then it’s time to award the Patriots the top 2 picks in the 1st round of the 2017 NFL draft.

  224. When your excuse is your calling the guy that took the footballs into the bathroom “the deflator” because he lost weight, be prepared to make some enemies.

Jim McNally called himself the deflator. Keep in mind that he called himself the deflator on a single occasion, in a text message to John Jastremski. The text was sent before the start of the 2014 season. The explanation that it was a reference to losing weight came from JM. It was not “our” excuse.

JM also texted John Jastremski around halftime of the Pats’ game in Green Bay on November 30. JM was watching the game in NH, since the home team (GB in this case) provides the ball attendants. That text read, “Deflate and give somebody that jkt.” If you can interpret that message as having to do with letting air out of footballs, please explain your reasoning.

Also, after the October 16 Jets game at Foxborough, JJ sent the following text message to his fiancee, “I checked some of the balls this morn… The refs [expletive deleted] us…a few of them were at almost 16.” If JM was supposed to be deflating footballs, why were the footballs 2.5 psi overinflated, and why is JJ blaming the referees and not the deflator?

  227. The “travesty” is that NE continues to get CAUGHT cheating and NOTHING happens. If Brady did nothing then why take the suspension. I have no sympathy for him, you reap what you sew. Don’t get caught in the position and there would be NO DOUBT that you are innocent. You did the time, therefore you did the crime.

Except everything that you typed is debunked by the fact that the NFL still hasn’t released the PSI information that was collected during the 2015 season.

Not to mention all the scientists that have stated on the record that the football deflation was explained by the weather.

Plus all the videos posted online where you can watch footballs deflate when they are placed into refrigerators.

The travesty is that NE was accused of cheating, despite the fact that real (not made up) evidence is nonexistent, then NE is fined $1 million, loses two draft picks, and their quarterback is suspended for a quarter of the season.

The single word from an off season text message was marketed through the media and it duped many.

But you can stop being duped by watching a football deflate with your own eyes by watching a video online. The video can be found by searching for: “DEFLATE GATE & WHY SCIENCE SAYS THE PATRIOTS DID NOT TAMPER WITH FOOTBALLS”
