The Bears signed free agent running back Joshua Rounds.

In a corresponding move, they waived rookie running back Joel Bouagnon with an injury designation.

Rounds was a four-year letterwinner at Tulane. He played in 47 games over his college career, rushing 226 times for 1,168 yards (5.2 avg.) and eight touchdowns. He also caught 40 passes for 288 yards (7.2 avg.) and returned 29 kickoffs for 516 yards (17.8 avg.).
In May, the Bears signed Bouagnon as an undrafted rookie out of Northern Illinois. He was a second team All-MAC selection after rushing for 885 yards and eight touchdowns in 2016. He finished his career ranked ninth in carries (600), seventh in rushing touchdowns (31) and sixth in total scores (34) at NIU.
