Orlando Scandrick would love to play with Dez Bryant again

Wide receiver Dez Bryant said recently that the “last problem” he has is finding a team for the 2018 season, but the veteran remains unsigned since being released by the Cowboys this offseason.

Cornerback Orlando Scandrick, one of his former teammates in Dallas, said he’s a “little bit” surprised that Bryant hasn’t landed with a new team yet and suggested his current team when asked where he thinks Bryant would be a good fit.

“Washington,” Scandrick said on NFL Network, via the Dallas Morning News. “I know Dez can still catch touchdowns. I know he can still be a great red zone threat, and I would love to play with him again.”

Bryant’s fit in Washington was discussed following his release as Bryant said he’d like to play the Cowboys twice during the 2018 season, but the presence of Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson at receiver doesn’t make adding a receiver an obvious need for the team.

A report last month indicated that Bryant, who turned down an offer from the Ravens, is willing to wait until the start of training camp to find “the perfect fit, a winning organization and a team willing to do a one-year, prove it deal.”

  1. Im sure theres a long lineup of teams aching to throw millions of dollars at a me-first receiver that has zero speed, cant run routes and cant catch the ball.

Dez is right, he should have no problem finding a team with his resume.

Organizations like that aren’t going to take a chance on a WR who can’t run routes, who can’t get open, who can’t catch, and who can’t keep their mouth shut. “The perfect fit” may be Dez watching games on his couch wondering where it all went wrong. Maybe if he hadn’t been so adamant about taking a paycut he’d still be playing for the Cowboys.

And Dallas…The Land of “Remember When We Mattered”

  4. Dez can still play at a high level. This one coach put this propaganda out like it was the truth and the sheep went along with it.
Now he can’t command a huge salary anymore, this he must realize eventually.

Dez Bryant was in the 3rd grade the last time Dallas won a SB.

  6. Its just a question of when the price is going to drop. He is asking too much for a guy in his twilight that may have some gas left in his tank, but not for sure. One he drops his price to a fair gamble a team will take it.

  7. The Cowboys have won three Super Bowls, the Giants two and the Eagles a whopping one since the last time the Redskins were relevant.

Which means Bryant’s mother was in the 3rd grade or younger the last time Washington won a Super Bowl…

  9. >I’d like to see what Dez could do with a real qb again

A real QB likes to know that his receivers are where they’re supposed to be and when they’re supposed to be there.

Dez doesn’t like to do that. He doesn’t like to run routes the way they’re designed. He likes to out jump and out physical smaller DBs. Dez CANNOT be counted on to be somewhere when he’s supposed to be there.

  10. I like how Dallas fans are always bringing up how many SB trophies they won 25 years ago! Those trophies didnt help them get to the playoffs in 2017-18 did it?

  11. Not that Doctson or Richardson have proven anything yet, but the Redskins are better off without Bryant.

  12. Dez will become a 2 sport guy. For Vinny McMahon. He can join the Wild World of Entertainment and then play for the soon to be extinct, again X.F.LLLLLLL! Sorry Dez, your talents can’t hold a light to all your on field\off field antics. Confusus say Man who farts in church, sits in his own pew. Think!

  13. We do not need a problem with a stupid signing of a very hated player by Washington fans and upset the good things we seem to be on track with so far with an exciting season that should be a good one. Dont mess with trouble. Bryant wasn’t signed by the boys again for good reason. He’s a cancer and he is done as a productive #1 receiver and they have moved on. We don’t need a cancer in our locker room.

Exactly how many years should pass when you reach the point you shouldn’t mention championships?

I can’t speak for ramrene, but I’ve been watching football since probably before you were born and I say you’re comparing apples and oranges.
Tony Romo hasn’t played a full, meaningful regular season in several years. That Dez Bryant no longer exists. Never fast to begin with, Bryant has lost another step. He’s older, has been running ever-sloppier routes, drops too many balls, and has missed time due to injuries, He’s shown himself time and again to be a narcissistic and divisive diva.
Even back then, Romo had to compensate for Bryant’s speed limitations and inability to run anything near a complete route tree. What Bryant brings to the table today is a faint copy of what we saw four years ago. Even if Bryant were still the same guy, there’s no guarantee any other QB could overcome his limitations and faults and make the best of Bryant’s limited strengths the way Romo once did.

As a Cowboys fan, I take issue with this statement.
    It’s been since before 2015.
