Rob Gronkowski feels “super ready”

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski took part in his only offseason work with the team at their mandatory minicamp in June and he said at that time that working out on his own was “the best thing for me” to get ready for the 2018 season.

It appears the approach worked. Gronkowski told former Patriot Willie McGinest this week that he is “super excited” for training camp and the 2018 season after a rejuvenating offseason.

“I am refreshed,” Gronkowski said, via NBC Sports Boston. “You know after the season, long seasons, how your body can feel and everything. I just wanted to see where I was at, and see how I can get my body feeling, see if I can handle it, endure it again, and I feel like I’m super ready, man.”

Gronkowski also said at minicamp that his camp was talking to the Patriots about a revised contract. Nothing’s been announced on that front, but it doesn’t look like that’s put a damper on his enthusiasm for his ninth NFL season.

  1. The cacophony of fools and idiots couldn’t wait on this one.

Gronk has played in 80% of the possible games he could have been in and generally outperformed every tight end that played in 100% of the possible games they could have played in. He remains the best TE in the game and probably the best ever to play in the NFL.

  2. Dear Trolls,

Your pathetic team is not completely worthless. Like you, they can always serve as a bad example.

    Patriots Fans!

If Shannon Sharpe or Kellen Winslow or Ozzie Newsome or Antonio Gates or Mike Ditka or John Makey or Tony Gonzalez played for the patriots, you would say they were the best TEs to ever play in the NFL. It’s called homerism. Gronk is good, but not the greatest. BTW not a hater, just a football fan.

  4. People confuse the party boy image with reality. Gronk works out like crazy and plays hard, takes a lot of cheap hits which are not called. Yes he took a dive at a player which was uncalled for. He let his emotions get the better of him. He took his punishment and moved on. That’s one example of poor judgement not bad considering the cheap hits he takes. The fact is he will be in the hall of fame and your pathetic team will still be losing and you will be blaming someone else for your teams failures.

The problem with this argument is it’s not just “Patriots fans” that say that about him
    It’s current and former players
    Current and former coaches
    But what would they know

He is also a chronic alcoholic and his best games are likely behind him. Gronk Party Bus, anyone?

Can’t wait to see him and Brady shred the Bills, yet again.

    ———-

You mean like they shredded the Raiders last season in Mexico?

  8. The comments would be funny, if they weren’t so utterly sad and misguided.

As someone else said above, Gronk has played in 80% of game in his 8 year career.

And Gronk has finished playing the season out in 3 of the past 4 seasons.

If you want to make fun of him….go after his “super” vocabulary.

I won’t dispute you on that super fact.

Cheap shots you say? Would that be like delivering a forearm blow to the back of the head of a downed opponent?

  10. He’s super excited about dropping another people’s elbow. But T.J. Ward is the bad guy right pats fans?

Lord knows his skill set is pretty darn good, and is an outstanding TE, but Greatest of All Time??? Lots of good ones came before him. Gonzalez, Gates, Sharp(s), Winslow, etc.
Will be a nice conversation when he is done.

The thing with Gronk though is he is a 100% total tight end, Gonzales, Gates, and Sharpes, were more pass catchers than anything else. Can’t comment on Wislow- never saw him much.

Gronk can be a wideout, downfield, side line receiver.

Classic down the middle tight end receiver

    Block for the passing game.

    Block for the run.

And stay in and block/catch/takeout/pickup a rusher or Blitzer.

That’s really rare, and to be GOOD at all- can’t think of anyone else.
