Rob Gronkowski not on Patriots’ flight to Chicago

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski didn’t make the team’s trip to Chicago for Sunday’s game against the Bears.

Gronk wasn’t on the team flight because of the back injury he’s been nursing, according to multiple reports. Gronkowski has also been dealing with an ankle injury, but it appears to be the back injury that kept him from making the trip.

Although the Patriots haven’t officially ruled Gronkowski out, it seems very unlikely he would play. It is possible he could travel separately, without the team, but that’s rare.

Gronkowski is leading the Patriots with 405 receiving yards this season, and New England will miss him if forced to play without him.

  1. I called it last week. He has been falling WAY off pace of hitting those incentives to make the extra 4 mil so he’s just going to dog it this season for a cool 8 mil and walk away a rich and semi healthy retired 30 year old.

  2. “New England will miss him if forced to play without him.”

    Ya think?

Why do you all end every single rumor/story with some Capt. Obvious comment?

PS: I know this won’t get past the comment police. I miss the early days when 10 comments were the norm (mid 2000’s).

Says someone who probably stays home from work when you have the sniffles

  4. Bonkowski is too hurt to play? That’ll happen when your tight end sends you into salary cap hell. He’s grabbing every opportunity to take the week off. Wimp.

  5. Hollisters turn to have some fun catching balls from TB12…let the GRONK rest & be 100% for the long haul…..besides Hollister needs the reps as he’s not been able to get on the field yet this year…..Allen can do the nececessry blocking….
    Go Pats!!!

    Exactly.

Colts trolls are as embarrassingly as unimaginative and predictable as, well, the Colts.

  7. Play, out, it won’t matter….. the end results will be the same….ANOTHER Patriots victory….. I think THATS what absolutely drives the jealous & envious posters over the top!!!!
    GOOD!!! I LOVE IT!!!
    Go Pats!!!

  8. This, and many more incidents like this is why Gronk will never be considered the best TE in history.

How’s Whinin’ Tammyhill these days chip? She makes Gronk look like an ironman.

  10. Yup, I am a Pats fan. And I do not think the Pats need him against the Bears. Rest up, get healthy, and I have this weird feeling Pats TEs are going to have five catches and make a definite contribution to the win.

Great, which team has worse injuries at this point? 😐
    +++
Every team has injuries at this time of year. Boo hoo!

  12. No matter Edelman is back in the lineup and James White is great catching out of the backfield the Pats have survived without Gronk before see Super Bowl 51.

Come on, who really thought the paper caveman was going to line up for 16 games this year?

    —————-
Hahahahaha. It makes me laugh when a Dolphins fan rips on the Patriots. Who is the Dolphins tight end? Do the Dolphins have anyone that is a potential Hall of Famer? When was the last time the Dolphins were even relevant?! How’s that injury prone QB doing or is she really a WR?

Hahahahaha! Paper caveman. That is funny!

Hopefully they call the league ASAP and let them know Gronk is in Mass

Actually a lot of his salary is set in incrntives. So he has to stay on the field to fet that big paycheck. This hurts him personally, its not a free paid day off.
