Lost practice time didn’t hurt Tom Brady much on Sunday

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t feeling his best this week and he added a cut to his right thumb during Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Brady got it taken care of by the training staff and went on to turn in a strong game in New England’s 27-3 win. Brady was 20-of-31 for 283 yards and two touchdowns while moving past Peyton Manning for the most career passing yards in the regular season and postseason.

All that came after Brady was limited in practice by a knee injury on Thursday and missed practice altogether with an illness entering the picture on Friday.

“I’d prefer to be healthy and practicing all the time,” Brady said, via NBC Sports Boston. “It just wasn’t the case. Just get back at it right now and try to feel as good as I can next week.”

One of Brady’s touchdown passes went to Rob Gronkowski in Gronk’s first appearance since Week Nine. Brady said “it’s great for our offense” to have Gronkowski back in action and they’ll hope everyone remains in place to face the Vikings next Sunday.

  1. Tom F Brady, it’s been a privilege watching him.
I almost feel bad for the people that try so hard to tear him down instead of just enjoying what they are fortunate enough to witness but then I think about how amusing it is seeing them wallow in their patsanoia and suddenly…yeah, I don’t feel bad at all.

Come to think of it there should be a puddle of fool drool here by now, somebody better check the respirator.

  2. Good thing for Tom Brady, the Greatest NFL Player of All-Time, because he had no better than a 50/50 shot at making the HOF until he broke that record; now it is probably 60/40. 🙂

  3. It’s the Jets. They could have had Keanu Reeves at QB and it wouldn’t have mattered. In fact, the Jets would lose against a team of snowmen.

Living rent free in the faux veterans head…….I respect Brady …..I just enjoy watching you fanboys seething when called out for your obtuse comments.

  7. 8-3…what are the records of the other contestants of last years final 4???I see why the haters cry..one year you are good…next year you’re not…the life of a yoyo must be confusing and hard.Meanwhile we Patriots fans will enjoy another 8-8 record(or better)like we have been for 18 years in a ROW(that means one after the other).

Take away the Patriots and the other 3 teams are 14-18-1. Also no team since the 1993 Bills has made a Super Bowl after losing one the year before. Perhaps we will see that streak end this year. 🙂

  10. GMGo…my point exactly…for 18 yrs the Patriots have had enjoyed success that other teams hope they can maintain for 4-5 seasons. They have done so with players that on paper are not as talented as other teams, while losing players that experts have said that they couldn’t afford to lose. The haters say its the division(then see those same teams beat their team),or they cheat or it’s the officials or its the flavor of the month.18 years of hate.Love it.
