Vikings pulling away from short-handed Packers

AP

The Packers are running out of bodies, and time.

With a number of key players leaving the game with injuries, the Packers find themselves down 10 heading into the fourth quarter, with the Vikings taking a 24-14 lead.

Kirk Cousins hit Adam Thielen for the score, the quarterback’s third touchdown pass of the night.

A 10-point deficit wouldn’t ordinarily be a big deal, but the Packers have dealt with more than their share of health issues so far.

Left tackle David Bakhtiari left the game to get medical treatment, but has returned. Left guard Lane Taylor hasn’t come back yet. Safety Kentrell Brice was getting checked on the sidelines after a helmet-to-helmet hit, while receivers Equanimeous St. Brown and Trevor Davis are also sidelined.

  1. I don’t know the future, but I’m almost certain the following are gone after the Packers season is over:

    McCarthy
    Zook
    Crosby
    Cobb
At least two of the current DBs

  2. Aaron Rogers can only do so much with the meeger amt of money the Packers are paying him .What Packers front office needs to do is find out how much money he needs to win a game then just pay him .Its obviously more than 30 million a yr .

  3. I can see the Packers cutting Tramon tomorrow morning.

They obviously don’t need safeties on this team.

    Randall traded

    Dix traded

    Whitehead cut

And the silence you hear is Lambeau Field…

  4. Boy. It was fun watching the Packers earlier this year. These last 5 weeks have been abysmal. We knew injuries were going to play a big part of the season the moment Aaron Rodgers went down. But who would’ve guessed that the season would turn out like this?

  5. I love how people like Florio always pull the “packers have injuries” excuse. Even with their roster at full strength, they are not anywhere near as good as the Bears or Vikings. The Packers are in grave danger of getting swept by the lowly Lions for a second year in a row

  6. FUMBLE. !!!!!
You will be the scapegoat this week. CUT !!

    ++++

Or, Missed kick. even from 48+ yards and Zim the sour puss will say I won’t leave the game in the hands of the kicker. Like that’s the only deficiency the Vikings have?

  7. Packers need to avoid going into last place

Especially after giving Rodgers that huge contract.

    LOL…cheeseheads

  8. Good thing they got that draft pick for Clinton-Dix. That draft pick has really helped out in the depleted secondary since the trade. The draft pick has been big in the locker room, as well.

Someone was trying to be more clever than Rick Spielman.

  9. That “all we need is Rodgers” mentality SHOULD get a lot of people F-I-R-E-D this off-season! Rodgers doesn’t have a lot of years to waste left in him.

    >>> 100% TRUE! There seems to be a huge mentality in the Packs upper-management that thinks “all we need is Rodgers” all while the Vikings and Bears improve, the Pack just seems to be treading water!

  11. McCarthy can’t be blamed for the fourth and inches call, can be blamed for the play design. Why would you have any of your non blocking receivers on the field for that play. Adams was out wide, motions to, and lines up next to the tight end. Then stands there and watches as the defender who followed him makes the play in the backfield. Nice effort by Adams, great play design by McCarthy. It wasn’t the only block not executed by the receivers, a lot of yards not made because receivers just stand there and watch.
