Jerry Jones: Cowboys are comfortable playing in L.A.

The Cowboys are coming to California. Their fans are expected to follow. To the extent they aren’t already there.

“Well, we’ve got thousands of fans that are generational there in Los Angeles,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, “and I’ll bet I have 30 first and second cousins out there alone. I was actually born in Inglewood in Los Angeles County Hospital, and so I got a great lineage of family that lived there. When we’d go to a family reunion, they’d say, ‘Jerry, we don’t sound like you do. You sound a little bit different.’ I’d say, ‘Well, I was raised a little to the east of you guys.’ But still, it’s a great feeling. We do feel very comfortable going to Los Angeles and playing. Now, that’s not to say the Rams are going to make it comfortable for us, though.”

The Cowboys have been spending time in Oxnard training camp since 2001, with most of those years coming at a time when L.A. had no pro football teams. And so the Cowboys have plenty of fans in L.A., and plenty of them will show up in droves at the Coliseum on Saturday night.

At stake for the Cowboys is their first road playoff win in 26 years and their first berth in the NFC title game in 23 years. A win would send the Cowboys either to New Orleans for a date with the Saints, or home for a game against the Eagles.

  1. I am an Eagles fan who hates the Cowboys but I have seen both teams a lot this year.

The Rams are soft as butter and the Cowboys are as tough as nails.

I expect Dallas to beat the Rams by 7+

  2. Strange scene Saturday night in LA as there are probably more Cowboys fans in SoCal then Rams fans add to the fact Lebron may be there with no Laker game in Cowboy gear strange

Love him or hate him. Jerry is the reason they will never win another super bowl.

  4. I bet the thousands of Cowboys fans at the game in L.A. will make more noise than the Cowboys fans at AT&T Stadium who are not loud at all, the stadium scoreboard has to always encourage them to “MAKE NOISE”, & they need a speech from Michael Irvin to fire them up…so sad.

That’s a shame because they have over 90 thousand people at every game but it only sounds like there are a few thousand.

I would say the Saints putting 48 points on the eagles shows who the true soft team is. Good luck keeping them under 50 on Sunday…..

  6. Those Cowboy fans will all have to have very deep pockets. I’m seeing (second hand) sideline seats on sale for $9800 each! – for people who have more money than they can count.

The bar scene in LA after the game will be insane. And drink prices will be higher than in the stadium.

  7. And no – Cowboys fans don’t outnumber Rams fans. LA never gave up on the Rams, even after Georgia got mad that LA wouldn’t give her a free stadium, and moved the team to St. Louis (btw – that city still hasn’t finished paying for that stadium). Not buying a football stadium for a gazillionaire NFL team owner doesn’t mean the city doesn’t have NFL fans. It means the city has smart NFL fans.

  8. Yes, they are comfortable playing in L.A. because they just lost another playoff game, which is what they always do.
Yeeeee Hawwwwww!! How ’bout dem cowboys!!!!!!
