Dowell Loggains is expected to join Adam Gase in New York as the Jets’ main offensive assistant, Jeff Darlington of ESPN reports.

Loggains served as Gase’s offensive coordinator in Miami in 2018. Loggains also had that role with the Titans (2012-13) and Bears (2016-17).

Former Broncos head coach Vance Joseph could join Gase as the Jets’ defensive coordinator, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. Joseph, though, remains a candidate for the head coaching vacancy in Cincinnati.

Gase and Joseph worked together in Miami, with Joseph serving as the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator in 2016.

  1. Wow. Gase’s problem in miami is he surrounded himself with buddies instead of qualified assistants.

Good luck, Jets. Darnold is ruined.

  2. Gase, Loggains, and Joseph…the Triumvirate of Failure!

I would feel bad for Jets fans, except I root for the Giants so I have my own issues to work through.

  3. LOL So it gets worse? Lets just transplant the Miami coaches who did SOOOOOO well in Miami, to NY. Thatll work out great

  4. This will be hilarious.. Jets are going to get worse under Gase.
That wide 9 nonsense was the worst scheme ever. Wake will be happy to be out of that also.
Miami will make the right hire. Be patient.

  5. This just cannot get any better.
NYJ letting Gase get the band together for another tour.
    Enjoy the show.

  6. Wait!… What? Not taking Tannenbaum too? This is the funniest thing in Pro Football ever! If the Dolphins hired Mickey Mouse as HC; at least they know they can’t do worse than 3rd in the AFC East.

  7. So we take a .500 coach who had a QB to develop in Miami and really did nothing special, and move him in division to a team with the same amount of talent. Yep, sounds like the ol NFL coaching nepotism to me.

  8. Loggains added little to the Fins… but he was emasculated by an egocentric, arrogant bull-headed coach who, based on fixations, interpersonal and emotional issues many suspect is “On The Spectrum”

…. someone who would was so in love with his own bubble screen on 3rd and 15 genius-level calls that he would repeat them over and over despite never being successful.

Loggains has always been along for the ride.

Good luck with Gase & Loggains – your Jets certainly won’t be “lighting” up the scoreboard !
————————————————————————————-No team that has Ryan Tannehill as quarterback is going to light up the scoreboard. Ryan was rated the worst starting QB in the NFL for 2018. What more do you have to know about what happened in Miami.

Ok @promickey – Let me enlighten you on things to come for Jets fans.
You could’ve had Tom Brady behind center in Miami & he would’ve stunk it up –
Tannehill is garbage granted , but how could RT even be mediocre with the plays
Adam” QB Whisperer” Gase was calling –
Example : If its 3rd Down and they need at LEAST 9 yards are more, expect a screen or a shovel pass.
Gase is way too predictable & Darnold will be running for his life – so good luck
    with that.
It only gets worse for you guys if Loggains signs on too !
