Eagles list Carson Wentz out, six others questionable

One guy the Eagles know about. The rest they’re going to make us guess.

#asexpected, the Eagles have listed quarterback Carson Wentz as out for Sunday’s divisional round game against the Saints.

But they listed six players as questionable, including linebacker D.J. Alexander (hamstring), defensive end Michael Bennett (foot), wide receiver Shelton Gibson (hamstring), cornerback Sidney Jones (hamstring), left tackle Jason Peters (quadricep), and wide receiver Mike Wallace (ankle).

All of those questionables practiced on a limited basis all week.

Bennett was held out Wednesday and Thursday but returned to the field Friday, which is a good sign for all their availability.

  1. While Carson Wentz is the future (no question) the team seems to rally around Nick Foles. The only concern I would have if I were an Eagles fan would be if Foles gets injured and has to come out. Other than that, Carson Wentz being out is not an issue.

Actually the Eagles are pretty high on Nate Sudfeld. Having said that, any team on their third string QB in the post season is pretty much going to be in trouble.

Drew Bledsoe was also “the future” in NE….until a guy named BB stayed with the winner. The Eagles should do the same.

  4. @SWFLP.INC – it’s funny you say that because I have a similar feeling. Tom Brady is a great quarterback, but I don’t think he would have the same success as guys like Brees, Rodgers or Manning on other teams. I also don’t think anyone including the great ones could have gone to the Pats and played as well Brady. It’s like they just found the perfect match, rhythm, whatever…I’m starting to think that might be what we have going here in Philly. I think the problem for me is that I was never that high on Bledsoe and I’m very, very high on Wentz. Tough decision, but I’ll trust whatever the management team does. They got us the ring and are still in it going to NO after a really tough season, so they have the benefit of the doubt for now. E-A-G-L-E-S!!

  5. Big difference. Pederson drafted Wentz. Belichick inherited Bledsoe.

While Foles has been good, Wentz is and should be the Eagles starter. He’s the guy who threw for over 3000 yards and 21 tds to just 7 ints in just 11 games despite playing with a broken back and a bad knee. The man’s a warrior!

  6. @eaglerome I agree

As a saints fan however, I’d rather have the Saints facing Wentz than Foles. Foles has done well several times in clutch time, and handles the pressure much better than most.
