The Giants have filled a couple of holes on Pat Shurmur’s coaching staff.
The team announced that they have hired Mike Dawson as their outside linebackers coach and Henry Baker as an assistant special teams coach.
Dawson takes the place of Rob Leonard, who left for a job on the Dolphins staff. Dawson was the defensive line coach at the University of Nebraska last year and also worked for Scott Frost during Frost’s final two seasons as UCF’s head coach. He was also on the Eagles coaching staff when Shurmur and linebackers coach Bill McGovern were in Philadelphia.
Baker was set to rejoin the Rutgers coaching staff before the Giants job came along. Baker was the cornerbacks coach at Rutgers in 2017 and left for the same job at North Carolina before agreeing to return to the New Jersey school in January.
