Eric Reid will remain in Carolina.

Reid, the safety who signed a one-year contract with the Panthers during the 2018 season, has signed a three-year extension, according to NFL Media.

Before Reid signed with the Panthers, he hired the same lawyer Colin Kaepernick hired to sue the NFL for collusion. Reid was the first player to join Kaepernick in kneeling during the national anthem, and Reid remained unemployed for a suspiciously long time once his contract with the 49ers expired.

But once the Panthers signed Reid there were no issues and little controversy surrounding Reid’s protest. Now the Panthers have decided they want to stay in the Eric Reid business for years to come.
