The Packers have tendered outside linebacker Reggie Gilbert, Michael Cohen of TheAthletic.com reports.

Gilbert, an exclusive rights free agent, will receive a one-year, $570,000 deal.

Gilbert, 25, played all 16 games last season. His 486 snaps on defense were 45.7 percent of the team’s defensive snaps. He also played 226 snaps on special teams.

He made 48 tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks last season.

Gilbert made his NFL debut in 2017, appearing in two games.

Another nice quiet move. Gilbert played well last year.

Yes, he did. He’s been quietly coming along for the past couple of years. That said, I hope he’s not yet hit his ceiling but only time will tell.

  2. Lucas Patrick

    Reggie Gilbert

    Justin McCray

    Jake Kumerow

    Robert Tonyan

All ERFA’s, all were tendered and will be back this season.

Comments on the first day of legal tampering:

Teams always overpay/overspend in the first wave of FA and regret it. Can you name one player that tentatively was signed by others teams today that you wanted Gute to sign and overpay for?

Free agency hasn’t even started yet. We are in good hands.

    #GoPackGo!🏈

  3. Now we are all set all we have to do now is trade back again and miss out on another difference maker so we can get the new coach fired.

  4. I’ve heard that some people are calling Kumerow a draft bust. I guess those people don’t realize that you have to be drafted to be a draft bust. Kumerow was signed as an undrafted free agent. That said, in his limited opportunities, he was probably the best route runner off all the Packer rookie WRs last year and he developed really good chemistry with Rodgers. This signing was a no-brainer.

  5. My Packers are gonna end up with scraps from free agency. It’s hard to get them to come to Green Bay. The Packers should at least move to Milwaukee.

  6. I don’t know what you guys were watching but the kid was only good in preseason against back ups. He was a a complete non factor.

  7. The Packers like to resign their own players just like the Vikings. The only difference is the Viking players have talent. The Packers also like to sign free agents just like the Vikings. The only difference is the Packers have to overpay for washed up players and the Vikings get good players that want to take less money to play in purple.

    …………………….

    Lol. This is just sad.

  9. Reggie Gilbert was an UFA; he was not drafted.
Ted Thompson is no longer the Packers’ GM.
Just because no one takes you seriously doesn’t mean you can just stop following the news.

Because of all the championships right?

  11. all i know is if my team never won anything, id probably be quiet. big bark. no bite. where are your championships? hello? anyone? bueller? lol. you do realize that your coach got an extension so they can fire him after next season, right? they just dont want to the lame duck situation. i wonder if they’ll fire him after you guys go 3-5 for the first half of the season. i say he lasts no more than 9 games next season. hahahahahaha

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

You’re measuring differences? The Packers are about winning. The Vikings are about whining. Similar sounding, but different.
