Which rookies will make an instant impact?

With the draft in the rear-view mirror, it’s time to look forward to the 2019 season.

And this was the question for Monday’s PFT Live: Which rookies will make the biggest impact this year?

It was the topic of a PFT Live draft, with Simms winning the rigged coin toss, taking the obvious first choice, and then blowing the balance of the draft.

Don’t believe me? (As is you ever do?) Check out the video, and then weigh in via the comments with your own ideas.

  1. The Vikings got the highest grade from Sports Illustrated for round one. The only team to get an A+ for drafting Bradbury. They said the Vikings had a need for help on the interior of the line but didn’t reach by taking the best Center in the draft. The Vikings will move Elflein to Guard(his natural position) and upgrade two positions with one pick. It instantly solidified the entire line and it will show game one.

Sweet Jesus you’ve already won the offseason!

  3. Pats got 2 guys at real positions of need that should show up right away. NHarry at WR and CWinovich on the edge.

  4. I will give my grades 3 years from now….you know after all these guys in the media hope you forget what they said today….

Fact is less than 50% of the guys taken in RD 2 wont be in the NFL in a few years, and less than 30% in RD 3, and anybody taken on day 3 the odds are really against you….Gotta draft guys who love to play , and love to practice.

  5. RBs transition pretty well so I would say that position could make the earliest impact… I also feel Bosa if he can stay healthy.

I feel the Savage in GB likely will start right away… and will deffinetly have an impact, as teams will test him early, and he will make an impact on games… but we will have to wait and see if they are positive or negative for Green Bay.

  6. Josh Jacobs will easily get 1,000 yards from scrimmage in the rushing and passing game.. and not to be biased.. but Clelin Ferrell will probably get 7-10 sacks his rookie year, as well as playing very well agaijnst the run. I’d say Josh Jacobs will be Offensive rookie of the year.. but I think I’ll skip Ferrell and say Devin White is Defensive rookie of the year. I wouldn’t be shocked if he had 100+ tackles and 4-7 sacks.. throw in a pick or 2.

  7. The playoff teams from last year won the draft. Late picks cost less money and leave room for more roster moves. The others are handcuffing themselves at the expense of shirt sales.

  8. None for the Steelers. If their draft picks don’t sit out the whole season like Bell, they beg to be traded. Or, like Jarvis Jones, they just become busts.

Kyler Murray about to take over the league.

Well, I guess Keim’s goal of injecting some enthusiasm into the fanbase worked. Sadly, Murray doesn’t get to play vs basketball on grass BIG12 defenses anymore.

What team do you root for that the Steelers spank on a regular basis? Obsess much?
