Ndamukong Suh contract signing delayed by trip to France

Word earlier this week was that the Buccaneers and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh were finalizing a contract that would bring Suh to Tampa for the 2019 season.

Reports like that are often followed closely by an announcement from the team, player or both that a contract has been signed. There’s been no such announcement in this case, but the reason for the delay in sealing the deal doesn’t appear to be related to any change of heart.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Suh told the team he was leaving on a previously scheduled trip and that signing on the dotted line would have to wait for his return. Suh’s Instagram story includes pictures is filled with photos from visits to vineyards in Bordeaux, France.

It’s not known when Suh will be back from sampling the local product, but it does seem the planned addition to the roster in Tampa is still on.

  1. He’s going to be stomping grapes at the vineyard like they were a Packer’s OLineman!

  2. Thank goodness the Seahawks didn’t sign this clown. He is the opposite of what they are looking for in terms of heart.

Suh is just collecting paychecks at this point.

  3. My sources say that Suh is looking at vineyards as an investment after a long distance call to his financial advisor and friend, Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha.

  4. Right on tylawspick6: he has made too much money to really give a _______ about Tampa Bay or football in general. A true professional takes care of business in a respectful manner! Bucs just getting a wide load of a player who is suddenly a wine expert! He should be in the states embracing his new team and new opportunity. I really wish he had gone unsigned.

  5. Translation: Since the Bucs cut McCoy, that make me more valuable to the Bucs. The Bucs were paying McCoy 13 million for this season, so I want more money to sign!

  6. Bucs still waiting for the other Suh to drop. But no worries, Ndom is working out diligently lifting tankards in French wineries. Along with the truffles and rich pastries of the region.

  7. He is still a good player, but a fan base has to question this guys motivation? He takes plays off and more over gets tremendous penalties at the wrong times (not that any time is good). I don’t mean the neck grabbing or ankle stomping, but offsides right over the ball???He is just milking the system and living off a long since expired reputation.
