Domata Peko visited Detroit

AP

Domata Peko might prefer Los Angeles, but he might have to settle for Detroit.

Since the Lions have, you know, shown interest in him and the Chargers and the Rams have not so far.

Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Peko said in a TMZ.com video that he “had a nice visit” with the Lions.

The 34-year-old defensive tackle spent the last two years with the Broncos. He has started at least 14 games in each of the last nine seasons. Originally drafted by the Bengals in 2006, he has 186 career starts.

The Lions can’t offer a starting role but they could use some depth behind Damon Harrison and A'Shawn Robinson.

The Lions have an open roster spot after cutting well-traveled tight end Michael Roberts last week.

  1. Who are these guys? The ex Patriots management is just wasting more time for the Lions! Scrapping the bottom of the barrel in the D.

  2. Thirteen years in the league and he’s Mr Anonymous. When you’re a mediocre player it’s probably best not to have your hair covering up your name.

  3. Who are these guys? The guy has been a force up the middle for years and is one of the better run stuffing NT in the league still. But please don’t let that stop you for cracking the same Detroit jokes that eveybody uses daily. Guy would be quality backup behind Snacks and Robinson

  4. Peko. Who is he? I don’t know where these posters have been. He has been one of the most dependable nose tackles in the NFL for the past dozen years. He may be 34 but I find it hard to believe he can’t find a team that needs depth in the defensive line, not to mention a star in the locker room.

  5. great player. been a fan since i saw him and his young family on Hard Knocks. hope he’s able to continue doing what wants to do.

Huh??? The “well treveled” Michael Roberts was drafted in 2017 by the Lions.

Think they are just referencing his last few weeks. He got traded to the Pats, failed the phsycial, went to GB, failed the physical, and was supposedly heading back to New England to try a third time.
