The Vikings are going to be short at cornerback for half the season, after the second suspension of Holton Hill. So they took a look at some experienced depth Wednesday.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Vikings worked out veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick.

The 32-year-old Scandrick spent last year with the Chiefs, and remains a solid option as a slot corner.

The longtime Cowboys cornerback could offer the Vikings some help there, even with all the high draft picks the Vikings have invested at the position in recent years (first-rounders Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes,Mike Hughes, along with second-rounder Mackensie Alexander).

  1. They’re going to need some depth early in the season. The three starters are very good but Hill is out half the season and there’s no telling when Mike Hughes will be ready to play, let alone 100%.

  2. 32-year-old Scandrick played 796 snaps for the Chiefs last season and earned plus marks from Pro Football Focus, grading out as their No. 35 cover corner out of 123 qualifiers.

Could be a good pick up! But wait a second, I thought there was no way the Vikes could sign any players since they are so cap-strapped? Hmmm sounds like cheeesers reaching again

I get it! He’s not been signed yet and only visiting for a workout, but he’ll be enlightened on the benefits of playing for the privilege instead of cash! Boy, they’ve got their winning formula down pat, don’t they?

  4. He dropped the game winning interception against the Rams last year too. Probably a good back up this point in his career.

  5. I am not sure what Solid means anymore? Scandrick was torched over and over last year for the Chiefs. He is a Solid reason the Chiefs secondary was so horrible. The Chiefs defense improved the moment they benched him. Between him and Steven Nelson they were each good for three or four penalties a game.

  6. He was a major contributor in making the Chiefs the worst defense in the NFL last season. There were ten other contributors as well but he got benched. I will say that again, he got benched while playing for the worst defense in the league. Think about it.

I’d love to know what the Packers’ “winning formula” is. The old one – Let Rodgers carry the team – doesn’t seem to be working anymore.

Scandrick will be cut by Philadelphia before week 1.///////

Not so sure Philly’s db’s are terrible.
