  1. This move was made because both FB’s the Packers currently have on the roster have minor injuries. Vitale has a calf issue that he got Saturday. I am sure they want to make sure a FB is available for Thursday night.

    Barring a major injury, Danny Vitale is on the 53.

  2. I do believe they’ve been quite pleased with Vitale’s performance throughout the offseason program, so much so, they felt very comfortable in making the FB a priority of this offense.

    Though, in the event of injury, you can always use TEs to make ends meet, it may be prudent to have an option stashed on the practice squad.

  3. They aren’t looking for effective ball carriers (unless called-upon.) They’re looking for mobile and effective blockers. They know what they’re doing.

  4. If Vitale flexed his calves, all defensive players would come flying off in unison. That dude is a running brickhouse. I will believe he is not on the team when I see the final 53 with him not on it. I love what he brings – the pain.

  5. Fun Danny Vitale fact:

    Danny recently married Caley Chelios who is the daughter of the great Chris Chelios. Chris of course played for the Badgers and is a NCAA Champion. Chris is also one of the greatest NHL players of all-time as well as a Stanley Cup Champion.

  6. This will fail. Everything the Packers do is failer than anything the Vikings do. The Packers couldn’t even win the most important of all things–division championships in the 1970s.

    So it is written, so it shall be.

  8. “Packers should be looking for an inside LB with the injury to Burks.”

    ====

    Gute just had a presser and when asked he sounded like he thinks the injury to Burks may not be a long term injury. Obviously he has information that it may not be as serious as was first thought. We will have to wait and see.

    “Hopefully we will get him back here soon.”

    This even sounds ridiculous to packer fans.
