The Bears announced the signing of running back Josh Caldwell on Monday.

The Chiefs cut Caldwell on Aug. 12, but Chiefs running backs coach Deland McCullough put in a good word for Caldwell.

“The guy can play,” McCullough said last week.

Caldwell had four carries for 59 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ game against the Bengals. The Chiefs, though, needed a roster spot to add tight end Manasseh Garner.

The Bears had an opening after cutting kicker Elliott Fry on Sunday.

Caldwell went undrafted out of Northwest Missouri State after rushing for 830 yards on 139 attempts last season.

  1. I guess there isnt that much trust in Mitch. With the Drafting and signing of running backs that brings a total of 6 running backs I might be wrong

  2. This kid isn’t great at catching but man can he run.. great contact balance – great at finding the endzone.

  3. Mitch Trubisky is a perfectly good QB. You don’t need Tom Brady to win the Superbowl. Once again Ryan Pace making solid moves. The Bears are going to win the division again. Meanwhile, my Raiders have no QB, no replacement for Mack and a diva WR that isn’t going to work out in Oakland.

Damn straight. As proof, I offer Trent Dilfer.

  5. I don’t get the criticism on Trubisky. Most coming from the neighbors to the North. You guys have arguably the greatest QB in the league and only one ring to show for it.

Team sport, Bears have the total package.

Also keep in mind this is Mitch’s 3rd year, second in the system. 1st year was behind the Glennon Experiment under Coach “Run/Defense” Fox. AR12 didn’t start till Year 3, riding pine behind Favre. Have some perspective.
