The Eagles won’t have Orlando Scandrick as part of their cornerback group to open the regular season.

According to multiple reports, the Eagles released Scandrick as they trim their roster down to 53 players by Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Those reports indicate that Scandrick could return to the team after the opener. As a vested veteran, Scandrick’s entire salary for the 2019 season would be guaranteed if he’s on the roster to start the regular season. He could sign with another team before the Eagles would revisit bringing the veteran back on board, however.

Scandrick signed with the Eagles just before the start of training camp. He spent last season with the Chiefs and played for the Cowboys from 2008 to 2017.

  1. Here’s another guy who I’ve never understood the hype over. Makes a LOT of tackles but that usually means he is playing on a crappier D. His career is probably over.

Except they aren’t healthy. LeBlanc is made of glass and your secondary is always hurt.

    Enjoy the cap hell.

    Seattle East.

Except they have healthy Darby Jones Douglas Maddox with LeBlanc and Mills ready to go. They will also bring Scandrick back after his contract isn’t fully guaranteed.

Cap hell? We have room for Clowney… must be doing something right.

  4. Not an Eagles fan but tylaw you should look at the cap numbers before speaking. Eagles have 4 million more in cap space than NE.

Yes they had some injuries last yr but that doesn’t qualify as being “always hurt”. They were pretty healthy when they bday YOUR team. And Howie was voted best gm and 2nd best gm over the last 2 seasons and has done a great job so no worries about cap hell.

  6. To deep to need a clowney , overflowing at all the offensive skill positions, my God why would scandrick not be waiting by the phone for the super bowl champion eagles to ring
