Alshon Jeffery has calf strain, could miss time

The Eagles were put in a bind Sunday when DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery and Dallas Goedert combined to play only 17 snaps.

Jackson has a groin injury, and Jeffery and Goedert are dealing with calf issues.

Jeffery has a calf strain, Ian Rapoport of the NFL reports.

While it’s not a serious injury, the team has two games in 10 days, so the timing is unfortunate for Jeffery and the Eagles.

Jeffery played only six snaps against the Falcons.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson did not offer an update on Jeffery’s condition Monday.

Jackson is hoping to play this week, John Clark of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com reports.

Still, the Eagles likely will have to make a move at receiver with Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins and rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside the only remaining healthy players at the position.

  1. This guy is hurt a lot. When healthy he’s good but he misses too much time. He reminds me of that tight end on Washington…

  2. After this week
    A trip to Lambeau

Green Bay is not the “ W” The Eagle radio stations were bragging about

Does anybody know how to stretch and warm up anymore?

    …………………………………….

Only 13 practice days in full pads for a 17 week season…and I think once per week during the pre-season. Their 100%/full speed practice time has been cut drastically over the past few years…so more muscle injuries during games.

Excellent point here, but it is possible to stretch every day on your own. Alshon is consistently with the trainers & missing games (in a short season) without a game time injury! We called him Hamstrings in Chicago.

“Good thing they got the Lions at home this week”

Who still have not lost a game yet

Wonder if Jim Schwartz wears his SB ring for the Detroit game.

  6. Bears fans…he played through a torn rotator cuff and contributed to Philadelphia’s Super Bowl victory. So there’s that!

You’re joking right? The Arizona game was an embarrassment, the Lions tied by the skin of their teeth after blowing a HUGE lead. The Chargers gifted them their close win, they are terrible. You’ll see by week 5 the Lions will be way deep down in the basement of the division.

Wonder if Schwartz will throw a flag on an unchallengeable play after screaming across the field at the opposing coach to “learn the game rules”?

Wow things are so bad for Lions fans they can’t even talk smack! Considering Schwartz is a coordinator and not a HC, he won’t be throwing the challenge flag. A really good friend of mine is a Lion’s fan, so I’ve been to 4 games. 1 game was the coin toss fiasco, another was when Marty decided to kickoff to begin sudden death overtime, the 3rd time was in Dallas where they were robbed and the 4th was in Atlanta, a game in which Lions mailed it in early.
