Josh Jacobs has groin injury; Tyrell Williams a hip pointer

Tyrell Williams and Josh Jacobs came out of Sunday’s game banged up, Jon Gruden said Monday.

Williams has a hip pointer, and Jacobs is dealing with a groin issue, Scott Bair of NBCSportsBayArea.com reports.

There is no indication of how bad Williams’ and Jacobs’ injuries are as Gruden said he was waiting on updates. Offensive tackle Trent Brown (knee) and returner Dwayne Harris (ankle) also are dealing with injuries.

Williams played 61 of 65 snaps, catching five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Jacobs played 30 snaps, getting 12 carries for 99 yards, including a 51-yard run.

The Raiders did see the return of offensive guard Richie Incognito on Monday. He rejoined the team after his suspension ended.

  1. The Raiders look like they will suck once again under Gruden. But Josh Jacobs looks like a definite keeper.

  2. Gruden needs to be less predictable with Jacobs. Jacobs passing game usage was way down this week compared to week one. Promote Crockett if they have to to get another guy who can run successfully inside. But don’t burn this kid Jacobs out carrying the ball all the time.

There is an obvious need for a WR2. Maybe check on Miami’s fire sale and see if Devante Parker or Albert Wilson is available. We get Incognito back this week and Gabe Jackson should be back next week. Miami needs linemen. Send them Denzelle Good or Jordan Devey for Parker or Wilson.

  3. Oof. Looks like the Vikings might be able to win then.
They could claw to 3-3 after six games.
    Raiders fans, just a warning:
If these guys are hurt and the offense sputters, Vikings fans will say it’s because they have the best defense ever assembled. If they lose, they’ll blame the refs for literally everything.
