Patrick Mahomes has done in 19 games what no one else has done in 40

Sunday was the 19th regular season game of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ career. And on Sunday he did something that no other player in NFL history has done within the first 40 games of his career.

Mahomes had 443 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday’s win over the Raiders, the sixth time in his 19-game career that he had at least 300 yards and four touchdowns.

Prior to Mahomes, no quarterback had ever thrown for 300 yards and four touchdowns six times in the first 40 games of his career.

Dan Marino and Kurt Warner are the only other quarterbacks who have even five games of 300 yards and four touchdowns within the first 40 games of their careers. Mahomes has exceeded their total in less than half the time. Mahomes is doing things never seen before in NFL history.

  1. Comparing him to Marino is not fair. DBs could hit the receiver until the ball was in the air when Marino played. You could hit the qb if you were within 2 steps. He didn’t get bailed out by defensive holding calls that gave automatic first downs. Marino played with 21 or 22 personal majority of the time. Comparing those two playing in different times you just can’t do.

  2. Funny thing is he missed his receivers 4-5 times yesterday so he wasn’t “really” on target. Yet he still threw for 440 yards and 4 TDS to 3 different receivers.

  3. Mahomes has also lost twice to the World Champion Patriots in two tries, both of which were partially his fault, and was shut out in the first half in a championship game at home to said World Champion Patriots.

No other QB has ever done that in 19 games either. 🙂

Yep a Patriots homer has to be here because he’s nervous that the Chiefs will dismantle the Patriots but the refs (on Kraft’s payroll) will make sure the Patriots get the win with some crucial timed flags that benefit the Patriots.

Then scorse 31 pts in a half where Brady was being bailed out by the refs because a defending touched…..meanwhile Mahomes get’s hit on the helmet and no call…..yeah nice try homer but the Patriots have the refs paid off courtesy of Robert “Handyman” Kraft. Please enlighten me how the refs hate the Pariots and don’t forget to provide a smiley face.

He might be the only QB to ever lose an AFC Championship game in OT while never getting to play in that OT. I think this is literal truth as opposed to nonsensical bitterness.

Mahomes’s offense doesn’t get shut out in the first half and there is no OT. 🙂
As for OT itself- all alternatives to the existing OT rule suck so it’s best left alone.

  8. Mahomes could win 5 straight rings with playoff wins over the Patriots each time and there will still be Pats fans going “Yeah but don’t forget how he lost to Brady in his first ever year as a starter!!!1!!1!!”

Refs don’t throw a flag for a soft roughing the passer on the Chiefs because god forbid anyone touch Brady and the drive is dead. Refs keeping the Patriots drives alive since 2001.

Hey champ, I’m a Chiefs fan. The point was he missed 4-5 targets and still three for 440 yards, imagine if he hit those WR’s on his misses. Sense is common, depending on you’re reading comprehension skills.
