Tom Brady limited in practice with a calf injury

The one thing that could derail the Patriots’ current run of dominance is an injury to quarterback Tom Brady. Tom Brady has an injury.

Brady was limited in practice with a calf injury on Wednesday, according to the team’s injury report.

It’s unclear what Brady actually did in practice; it doesn’t take much for a guy to be listed as “limited.” And it makes sense to watch the injury report over the rest of the week, as the Patriots prepare to face the Jets.

Rookie Jarrett Stidham would replace Brady, if he can’t go. Currently, the Patriots are favored to beat the Jets by more than 20 points.

  1. Well, everyone knows it’s gonna take all the tricks and guile BB can muster to get past the Jets this week. This is just subterfuge, I wouldn’t read too much into it.

  2. If their defense stays healthy, they won’t need Brady at 100%. Peyton Manning was far less than healthy during the 2015 season.

  3. …. seriously.
Look at the Greatest Player in NFL History’s History….
When He is injured or I’ll..he goes into Swole Mode!

  4. I agree with the statement above, this is the perfect opportunity to have Stidham start, especially with the offensive line in shambles. Jet’s young D line could do some damage. #SaveBrady

  5. I would not say that I am Mona Lisa Vito of sports medicine but Alex Guerrero will have this fixed in jiffy.

Other than a pre-injury Roethlisberger-led Steelers in week one you mean? Pats face a pretty stiff run of opponents in mid season (Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Texans) and within the div @Bills in Sept won’t be a walkover, the Browns game could be interesting, and Skins.

  7. Obviously an injury to Brady would be a concern although I suspect this is more of a rest a strain situation.

Pats have taken some o-line hits and hopefully that bad luck ends.

  8. Maybe this is the perfect excuse for Bellichick to bench Brady? He has been forced to rely on rbs and defense for several seasons now, hes gotta be excited about the prospect of a qb that can throw down the field more than 3 yards at a time.

  9. Heard reports he was seen with a slight limp in his step *before* the game. O-Line injuries are taking a toll on the Pats and could doom the season.

  10. He’ll play, but it would be amazing if this game became a battle of the backups. At least a few gamblers’ heads would explode.

I would add that the Ravens and Eagles games are not only on the road, but both of those teams have a bye before they play the Patriots. They will have two weeks to prepare for a home game against the Patriots. The Chiefs have a bye just prior to the week they play the Patriots. They play the Raiders, a well-known opponent, coming out of their bye, and then they travel to New England. I’m sure they will spend a significant portion of that two weeks preparing for the game against the Patriots. The schedule maker did them no favors.

anyone who believes this needs to see a DR. themselves ,as we all know the pats never tell the truth before an up comming game

Yeah but they don’t lie either. Saying nothing is an under rated option.

A concern to Brady, certainly not to the Patriots. Jarrett Stidham, Jimmy Garoppolo, Matt Casell – makes no never mind.

    Yeah , no you didn’t

All the reports said “seen in locker room , looked fine “

    Nice try

  15. streetyson you have got to be kidding me right? This is the 10th year in a row the Patriots have a cakewalk schedule. Look it up the easiest schedule in the NFL this year for a as everyone calls them dominant football team. Not hardly give them the toughest schedule in the league they win nine games

That would be highly entertaining. Except it would be a second string backup vs a respectable defense and a third string backup vs a terrifying monster machine of a defense. So I think the best play would be if both coaches were to agree to send their practice squads.

They replay the games on NFL network so you guys that apparently never watch football can get a second chance to correct that.

  18. “hes gotta be excited about the prospect of a qb that can throw down the field more than 3 yards at a time.”

The entire football world saw Brady throw perfect 40 and 50 yard rainbows in the opener against the Steelers. Keep tossing out the same old trash about him though if it makes you feel better.

You are going off of last year’s schedule for SOS. Lets see what is it like come mid season. Again your lame argument is they have a cakewalk every year. Why did the Pats lose to 5 non playoff teams last years but beat all the teams they faced that made the playoffs including the 3 teams in the playoffs. Of course they are the most dominant team. They do it in the regular season and the playoffs. These are not the Colts who used to have crazy season #s but could not get it done in the playoffs. Your are not an objective fan. You just object anything Pats.
