Eddy Piñeiro questionable for Monday night

His skills are no longer questionable, but his knee currently is.

Bears kicker Eddy Piñeiro popped up on the final injury report in advance of Monday night’s game with a knee injury. He was limited in practice.

The Bears may need to make a roster move on Monday, if Piñeiro can’t go.

Piñeiro nailed a game-winning 53-yard field goal last Sunday in Denver, quieting considerably the double-doink noise from the playoff loss to the Eagles.

Defensive tackle Bilal Nichols is out with a hand injury. Also questionable are offensive linemen Kyle Long (hip), tight end Trey Burton (groin), and defensive back Eddie Jackson (shoulder/knee). Long was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, but he did not practice on Saturday.

  1. I sincerely hope Piñeiro will be “full go.” Anything less would just be a cruel joke at this point.

Don’t get me wrong, I still want “my” team to win the division but I want it to be the toughest division in football.

In a perfect world, both Wild Cards would come out of the NFCN and the team that didn’t make it would only miss out by way of a tiebreaker.

i have been as big of a Trubisky critic as anybody…but the guy did deliver that game winning drive. I have to give him that.
    —————-
Game winning drive?! What part of 53-yard field goal don’t you understand? And they only got to mid-field thanks to a roughing penalty by Broncos. And even then it had to be followed by sympathetic refs allowing Bears to have a T.O. call a timed for as soon as Robinson goes to ground with a second left rather than the usual few seconds it takes for the players or sideline to call the T.O. and then the ref to see it and respond.

  3. @streetyson, sounds like someone’s a little bitter. Say what you will but trubisky did step up and deliver that throw to Robinson about thirty yards down the field. That play took time to develop, and the throw was impressive. Regardless of how you feel about time left or if there was in fact roughing on a previous play, that throw was still impressive and the kick doesn’t happen if they don’t make that throw to get in range.

  4. It the Bears need a field goal to beat Washington, they may as well pack up for an early winter vacation, before the fall season officially begins.

  5. Let’s not forget the two egregious roughing the passer calls on the Bears… That being said, Bears fans will be watching kicks with bated breath until the Parkey debacle has been cleansed from memory.

  6. The guy hits one game winner and now all questions are gone? C’mon bud. He also had nothing to do with the “double doink”. Let’s see how his numbers look after 16 games before pronouncing him the next Morton Anderson.
