The Lions will have rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson available tonight against the Packers.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Hockenson cleared the concussion protocol, and was removed from the team’s injury report.

He suffered the brain injury in Week Four, and missed last week’s game. He returned to practice this week, and was a full participant on Friday and Saturday.

He has 11 catches for 166 yards and a touchdown this season.

  1. It doesn’t matter, this game is the beginning of a 1-5 record for the next six weeks for the Lions now that their cupcake schedule is over (excluding the Chiefs – who have definitely taken a step back this season.)

I live in Detroit, I know Lions fans, I see them with my eyes and they know The Lions are not contenders……has to be true!

  2. Even though the big rookie is back it won’t be enough to beat the Packers in Lambeau on cold fall evening. The Packers are pretty much in control of that division especially with that week one victory over da bears.

  3. Big division game here. Can’t pick the Lions they just don’t have enough depth or talent to compete. They need to have some consecutive drafts to build a serviceable squad and stop drafting TEs in the first round.

  4. Should be a fun game — both the Lions and Pack are improved this year. Yet I really wonder if that TEs brain is fully healed from that collision.

  5. What’s really crazy… but completely awesome… is how tightly all 4 teams are grouped in the division. If the Lions win tonight, they’ll be all alone in first place. If they lose, they’ll be all alone in last place. That’s the kind of thing that’s no big deal in week two… but this is week six.

  6. Let’s hope Booger is in the concussion protocol tonight! The game will be bad enough as it is.

Only the 5th game for the Lions. Not a must win for them, as this is their 1st division game and it’s on the road. They win one of the next 2 and they’ll be in good shape with a schedule that includes Giants, Redskins, Bucs, Broncos, Raiders, Cowboys, Vikings(2), Bears(2), Packers(1).
