Mitchell Trubisky listed as questionable to face Saints

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky got in another full practice session on Friday, but the Bears aren’t ready to say he’ll be back in the starting lineup against the Saints.

Trubisky sat out the team’s Week Five loss to the Raiders with a left shoulder injury and said this week that he would wear a harness on the shoulder if he’s back in the lineup. While all signs point to that happening, the Bears listed Trubisky as questionable on their final injury report of the week.

“That’s where we have him at. I like where he’s at. So far he’s stacked good days together,” head coach Matt Nagy said.

Guard Ted Larsen (knee) is also listed as questionable. Larsen or Rashaad Coward is expected to take over at right guard with Kyle Long on injured reserve.

Defensive tackle Bilal Nichols (hand, knee) got the same tag as the other two Bears and is the only other player on Friday’s injury report.

  1. There’s no way Nagy would list him as anything other than questionable. Also.. why would the Bears give up the slight edge of making Saints prepare for the “short pass” game of Daniels.

    Trubiski’s starting.

  2. The sad thing about Trubiski as QB is that Nagy takes away his greatest strength. He is probably the best running QB (potentially) after Lamar Jackson. And, if he could be taught to run “Russell Wilson style” ie: take the easy 5-7 yards and SLIDE. He could likely not get hurt and be MUCH more effective. Playing like that would also keep the Defense off the field and they would be deadly coming out to any offense that could get in a rhythm..

But Nagy wants to utilize all his “plays” – despite those plays are NOT best for Trubiski. A flexible and multi experienced coach eg: like a Pete Carroll type, would make this team a contender.

Yea because Tribiski is great at the deep ball, so going to catch them off guard.

  4. Sounds like Cam Jordan, Davenport, Rankings and company are going to have a field day with Bears backup guard starting and injured.

Thats the POINT. He/Nagy need all the help they can get. And Daniels is effective IF the Def doesnt scheme to close in the field. THEN hes easy to beat. So by making them plan for Daniels, it DOES give a mediokre QB who has the ability to throw deep, a much better chance of making a play. It might be fun for you to mock Trubinski cause he sure aint an elite QB, but thats exactly why he’d have a better chance to make some plays making the Saints prep for Daniels.

And by the way Trubiski did win 10 and lose 3 last year. So yes its possible.

  6. Bears need to find a Quarterback next year but do you really trust Pace My thoughts Pace needs to go too many mistakes that has hurt the Bears.

  7. I am VERY wary of the Bears and their defense, especially at their place. Would be very pleased if the Saints won, but not at all surprised if the Bears prevail. Either way, should be a good game

  8. Trubisky isn’t their only problem, the way the Raiders smacked that defense around has to be a major concern, it was a total beatdown.

  9. Smacked around by the Raiders? A jet lagged Bears team lost by 3 with their backup QB and lost a probowl D-Lineman. OK

Trubisky lead his team to the playoffs in his second year. Most of the Offensive struggle still have been due to the regressing OL.

But tell me more how awful he is.

Questionable that he will throw over a 100 yds

Are you sure it’s questionable, and not doubtful???

  11. He has been listed as questionable and limited since the day we wasted all those picks to take him. Pace should have been fired the second he walked out of the draft room after that idiotic move up to number 2 for an average AT BEST qb.
