The Philadelphia Eagles have gone practice squad shopping to help add to the interior of their defensive line.

In addition to signing Anthony Rush from the Oakland Raiders practice squad, the Eagles are plucking defensive tackle Albert Huggins off the Texans squad, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Rush and Huggins appear to be taking the roster spots of Akeem Spence and Orlando Scandrick, who were released by the Eagles on Monday.

Huggins signed with the Texans an an undrafted free agent out of Clemson this spring. He appeared in all four preseason games for the team, recording eight tackles. He had 30 tackles with 2.5 sacks during his senior season at Clemson despite fighting for playing time with Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence and Austin Bryant, three of whom were first round picks.

  1. I’m not saying that Foles was a better QB and should have been kept but there is something about Wentz breaking apart this team. As we all argue about it this team is falling further apart.

  2. The Eagles have $40 mill/yr invested in their top 4 pass catchers and nothing to show for it in 2019.

Even when DJax comes back the coach has already said he won’t be completely healthy the rest of the year. $10 mill for 1 game.

Maybe the Eagles can stop drafting possession receivers.

The big problem is Nelson Agholor………….. he was drafted by Chip, did nothing his first 2 years at all, the Eagles stood by him with the false sexual assault allegations. He was a first round draft pick that was paid well for nothing, finally has one nice year only because the coverage that years was on everyone but him. They pick up his 5th years option (huge mistake), I assume they thought that was just until they work out a long term deal, then he refuses to sign a deal that isn’t for huge money and they are stuck!

Great so now we are paying him $9.4 Million and watching this guy just rob us blind been watching that for years and drop passes all over the field. But hey it’s great that all the WR’s who are dropping passes are blaming Carson. Carson is throwing to his TE’s way to much because he doesn’t have a choice no one else (sanders excluded) catches the ball.

This is the most frustrating season I have ever seen, I know how much talent is on this team but between the training staff who can’t keep anyone healthy, and the egos on this team it’s just a waste of a season!

The problem with the team is that they are mostly devoid of talent. All NFL teams deal with injuries – good teams have depth to employ the next man up strategy. Right now, the next man up for the Eagles is on someone’s practice squad. This is Howie’s mess – he went all in on older players and has a huge weakness with building in through the draft. The team is paying the piper now.

If this is the most frustrating season you’ve seen then you haven’t been watching very long.

Spot on! I will still take the SB victory though. They don’t have a game breaker on offense nor a game wrecker on defense. At this point Howie is flailing away at players that have a pulse. I think the rookie LT is good enough for JP to retire or get cut. Darren Sproles should be gone too. With no other reliable receiving options, teams have taken Ertz out of the equation. The best move Howie made was not giving up two 1st round picks for Ramsey, knowing the team has more problems than Ramsey’s presence could fix.

Same team that win with foles

  8. How do you sign someone from another team’s Injured Reserve? Do you understand how football works?

Do people even think about what they say or type before they put it out there in the world?
