The Raiders didn’t make any trades at the deadline, but they did make some moves Tuesday.

Besides signing linebacker Brandon Marshall and offensive lineman Erik Magunson, the Raiders also have a deal with free agent linebacker Will Compton, Scott Bair of NBCSportsBayArea.com reports.

Compton, 30, has not played a game this season with the Saints having cut him Sept. 5.

He has played six seasons, five for Washington and one for Tennessee.

Compton has played 69 games with 35 starts and has made 286 tackles, two forced fumbles, three interceptions and 12 pass breakups.

  1. Loved that the raiders didnt bite on any of these ludacris trade rumors that were going around. The raiders fleeced the bears into the mack trade, now every team wants 1st rounders for their disgruntled players. Our rookies, and 2nd year players all are a huge part of our small, but unexpected success. We snagged arden key, mo hurst, pj hall, hunter renfrow, foster moreu, Trayvon Mullen, and max crosby all after the 1st round. Gruden and mayock have something going here. Keep our picks, we finally have people who can find talent in the draft! People really wanted the raiders to not only trade our 1st round picks for leo William’s AND/OR beasley, and robby anderson and for what? 8weeks? Then all 3 would want huge deals that the raiders SHOULDNT pay because we have our own who have earned it in the silver and black. NOT TO MENTION the loss of the 1st rounders! This isnt madden people!! #RN4L !!

  2. Glad we kept all our picks. Getting a few guys to help the LB corps, can’t hurt. One of the roster spots are free from them releasing Justin Phillips. What are the other two corresponding moves? It sounds like they might bring back Marquel Lee from IR too.

  3. Nice moves, now hopefully we go get Scandrick to have a veteran presence in the secondary to help Mullen and other guys step their game up. Shouldnt cost much at all.

  4. The Raiders have already become a solid team, and they’re loaded with top picks in the upcoming draft. They’re building a solid foundation. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them draft a young QB if the right one falls to them with one of their first round picks.
