The Patriots are playing record-breaking defense, and perhaps no player is doing more than Stephon Gilmore.

The veteran cornerback was named AFC defensive player of the month, for helping his team stay perfect.

Gilmore had two interceptions, seven passes defensed and 11 tackles.

He’s the second member of the Patriots secondary to win the award this year, following Devin McCourty in September.

Well, to be fair, EVERY OTHER TEAM compared to the Patriots are terrible, so it’s kinda a catch 22 there….

  3. They’re doing what they should do to bad teams and Gilmore is a big part of that. They have made every QB they’ve faced perform like Nathan Peterman in aggregate.

  8. When you have the big stud CB many options open up for a D that are otherwise not there, and it makes the entire unit more effective as a whole. There is nothing more important on a D than having that one shutdown guy these days. Gilmore has earned every cent of his pay and deserves all the accolades. He may be BB’s best FA signing, ever.
