George Kittle’s unique nature gives him a chance to play on Sunday night

The night 49ers tight end George Kittle injured his knee and his ankle, he kept playing for as long as he could. And he could be playing again on Sunday night, thanks to the same mindset that kept him on the field after the initial injuries happened.

How can that be, when others would be still doubtful or out?

“Watch how he plays and watch how he walks around,” coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Friday. “I think we’re all a little different, but he’s unique and you see it on the field. He has a personality where he goes 100 miles per hour in whatever he does. That’s probably why he’s going to have a WWE career after this. What’s cool is that’s kind of who he is and then you see it on the field. . . . [H]e always makes plays with his attitude when the ball is in his hands. It’s just different.

“Last year he played with [injured] ribs all year. The fact that he did that in a game, most people would have been out right away, and he was able to come back and play in that first Arizona game for three quarters with nothing. You can’t rule Kittle out. He’s earned it.”

Kittle has missed two games since the injury, but this is the first time he’s been listed as questionable with the ankle and knee injuries. The 49ers need him, as they embark on a stretch of games against the 8-2 Packers, 8-2 Ravens, and 8-2 Saints.

    “You can’t rule Kittle out”.

Two sentences later, he’s missed the last 2 games…
    ——–
Shanahan ruled him out those 2 games. Kittle tried convincing Shanahan to let him play even though he’s injured. That’s why he had to sit in the skybox the last 2 games, they didn’t want him jumping up and down with teammates. Dude is an animal. He played and broke records with garbage ribs all year. Best te in the league.

  2. Kittle is an animal. We want him healthy for the rest of the year. We need all our guys healthy for this stretch. There is a lot of haters and people dont think the Niners can make this run. Kittles heart and mind set is key to this team. He makes everyone better. Believe in this squad as we Niner Fans do….witness something great. DEFENSE make Rogers uncomfortable. Offense gets on track

A ruse to scare Green Bay? Lol! Nobody’s scared of a team that got crushed by the Chargers 2 weeks ago. Niners will get the victory. Kittle will play.

When was the last time the Niners were even relevant?

  4. 2013 49ers beat green Bay in playoffs at Green Bay. 2 weeks later they lost a heart breaker to the Ravens in the Super Bowl. 2014 they lost to Seattle in the NFC championship game. You must have a short memory. Green Bay is overrated as usual.

Didn’t answer the question. When was the last time the Niners were relevant? It’s been 5 years since you picked outside the top 10 in the NFL draft. Eventually, the odds will catch up and you will stop being the stink of the NFL because of all your high draft picks. It’s called parity. Apparently, the going rate is 5 years before all your suckness starts getting better because you are given tons of charity from the NFL draft.

  6. Question was irrelevant. Green Bay has been overrated in the last 5 years. Always sniffing the playoffs but always coming up short. We have used the draft to build a good team. We put people in positions to evaluate talent and they have made the right picks. Ask the Browns and the Bengals how picking high in the draft has worked out.
