Sheldon Richardson hopes Mason Rudolph starts next week

The Steelers benched quarterback Mason Rudolph on Sunday and head coach Mike Tomlin said after the 16-10 win that everyone will have to wait and see whether Rudolph or Devlin Hodges starts against the Browns next week.

Browns defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson has made his opinion known. Richardson said after Cleveland beat the Dolphins that he is hoping to see Rudolph in the lineup. Richardson made it clear his choice has nothing to do with lingering bad feelings about the fight that led to Myles Garrett‘s suspension when he was asked why he feels that way.

“Did you see him last game?”

Rudolph was 23-of-44 for 221 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in a 21-7 Cleveland win. He laid another egg this week and that may leave Richardson’s wish unfulfilled.

  1. Browns are going to crush whatever back-up they put out there. Whther it’s the duck caller of the reindeer.

  2. The Brownies have squandered all the good will they built up over the years. What a bunch of punks.

“Good will”? They’ve been a doormat and a laughing stock for decades while the Steelers have cheap shotted and late him them at will.

Kind of fun to see the shoe on the other foot.

  4. ahhh here come the mason is a punk and myles is the man who finished the fight crowd.
same crowd that think it ok to hit a woman cause she get lippy.

  5. Brownie fans are the most pathetic fans in the NFL. They’ve never won anything at all but talk so much trash. No class trash! Can’t wait til next week!

YEP, remember when their fans threw beer bottles at the opposing team and the refs when they didn’t agree with the refs call, their fans are worse than their players!

How about 8 Championships. Steelers still trying to catch-up!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. And all the Browns SB hype did come true, anyone that knows the Browns-Steelers rivalry knows the Browns beating the Steelers once a year is equivalent to them winning a SB, so mission accomplished!

  9. Steelers could barely beat a team that was actually trying to lose today. Next week is going to be a Rudolph awakening.

Yea when there was what 12 or 14 teams in the NFL, there’s a good reason no one counts those!

  11. Cleveland path to the playoffs:

    1. Win out.
    2. OAK loses @KC next week.
    3. TEN loses @IND next week.
    4. IND loses @NO Dec. 16.

    All doable.

  12. Squealers in trouble no matter who starts. Refs gonna have to go above and beyond to keep them in the game and possibly hand them a W. It’s not unlikely, they’ve done it before.

  13. I would too. His QBR today was 17.4. You pretty much can’t beat anyone when you have a QB who is that bad. Hodges should be the starter from here on out. They’ll have a better chance with him than Rudolph. They need to get rid of him this offseason. Maybe they can trade him for a can of Spam.

It’s actually amusing you think you’re witty with “Squealers”.

    Squealers in trouble…”

You must be 12 years old with that puerile (look the word up) comment. Wow. Talk about flaunting ignorance.

  16. Mason jarred in the first meeting.
Browns could be targeting Rudolph, so he’s better off on the bench.
Hodges seems to be playing better, so starting him is a better idea all the way around.

  17. Keep lighting the fire for the Steelers, Sheldon. And have your classy fans bring a Rudolph pinada to the tailgate while you’re at it. See how that works out.

  18. Kind of fun to see the shoe on the other foot.

As a Pats fan be careful of what you say as the run will end and you will be abused for years. And to the Pats fanboy crying about the refs helping the Stealers……love the bogus tripping call to aid the Pats….be quiet.

LOL thanks for the laughs. In your mind the Browns are somehow the most successful franchise in the NFL

  20. So the standard for trash talk in Cleveland is to suck for 20 years, crawl back to .500 for one season and then you can come out firing. No wonder they had their Super Bowl two weeks ago.
