Bears right tackle Bobby Massie to miss time

The Bears have enough issues on offense, now they have to adjust for an injury.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Bears right tackle Bobby Massie suffered a high ankle sprain in yesterday’s win over the Giants.

Massie missed a game earlier this year because of vertigo, but this injury should keep him out a few weeks.

The Bears signed him to a lucrative extension this offseason, locking him up through the 2022 season. With games and realistic chances for the postseason dwindling, he might not see much more of 2019.

  1. Pretty much all of the starters on the offensive line have been, well…offensive. Hope he heals up quickly but maybe a change wouldn’t be a bad thing.

  2. That whole unit needs blown up and rebuilt. They literally can’t move anyone in run blocking and the number of mental errors they make every game is appalling. Everyone talks (with good reason) on how Ryan Pace whiffed on QB but the O-Line has deteriorated badly under his watch as well.

  3. It doesn’t matter, the season is over. I was looking at schedules and it is very likely that the 49ers, Seahawks, Packers, and Vikings all finish 11-5 or better which means that you would have to win at least 11 games to get in as a wild card. Might as well IR guys, get young guys experience and start planning for the future.

And the packers play 3 teams with less than 4 wins, yeah, the cheese heads are for sure in (but hopefully out first game)

  5. As a 50+ year fan, I am not wasting my time watching them, no sense in getting so pissed off. I can read about it.

  6. Massie is symbolic of Pace’s lack of interest in the offensive line. An Arizona Cardinal reject, who is mediocre on his best day. A horrible run blocker and sometime pass blocker, who got a four year “lucrative” contract. But having said that he’s better than Rashaan Coward , James Daniels or Cory Lucas. In my opinion, this is the crux of the Bear’s problem.
