Bryan Bulaga returns to practice

The Packers made a flurry of moves this week to cover for the possibility of tackle Bryan Bulaga missing some time with the right knee injury he suffered last Sunday.

As it turns out, they may not need them.

Via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Bulaga took part in the portion of practice reporters were allowed to watch Thursday. He was listed as a limited participant, but that’s progress over where they thought he’d be when he left the game against the 49ers.

“It’s something that we’ll wait and see throughout the week, but I thought he looked OK,” LaFleur said. “He’s a pretty tough guy. I know if he’s able to go, he will.”

The Packers promoted a tackle (Yosh Nijman) from the practice squad this week, signed another one to the practice squad (Cody Conway), and claimed a retired guy off waivers (Jared Veldheer) just in case. Veldheer’s headed to Green Bay to take a physical today.

But with Bulaga bouncing back quickly, that one may be a moot point.

  1. Next man up isn’t required I guess. Two-steps forward, one-step back. It’s been that way from the beginning due to new front office personal, new head coach, and all-new offensive scheme. I’m pleased with the results. When you consider the lofty, unparalleled success of Cousins, having the three best wide receivers on one team, a “most vaunted defense” for three years running, the Packers playing a slightly more difficult but nearly identical schedule as the Vikings, and the Packers holding a divisional advantage after twelve weeks of play……it has exceeded all my expectations so far. Keep it up. Go Pack Go!

  2. Bulaga is a warrior and it did not surprise me at all to see he practiced on Thursday just a few days after a MCL sprain.

Bryan will want to play Sunday, but I would sit him this week and move Billy Turner out RT and insert Lucas Patrick at RG. Bulaga can return vs. Washington more healthy. Would also be helpful to see how Billy Turner performs at RT in a game. This would make decisions in the offseason easier.

With green bay having the worst defense in the league, they will falter as expected. Ted Thompson has ran this once proud franchise in the ground.
    ________

Look at it this way, ariana, for the short time he ran football operations in GB, Ted built a team that went to the postseason 8 times, won the NFC North 6 times and added a Lombardi trophy to the rest of their hardware.

If the Vikings had the foresight to hire Ted Thompson, he would’ve been the single most important figure in the history of their franchise.
They would’ve erected a statue of him outside Avian Killzone stadium by now.
And they probably would’ve renamed Loserville to Ted’s Town.
    Probably.

  4. Just OK?

Guess who just got reinstated? Well, not officially.

    Nervous? Yeah, me too.

Ahh, we’ll get it figured out. See ya in there.
