Dalvin Cook questionable to return after injuring shoulder on fumble

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook headed straight for the locker room after being injured on a fumble in the third quarter of Monday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle defensive end Rasheem Green punched the ball free of Cook’s grasp on the first play of a Vikings possession. While wide receiver Stefon Diggs was also down on the field briefly after the play, it was Cook that was worse off. When he finally managed to get to his feet to leave the field, he was taken straight to the locker room for further evaluation.

The Vikings announced that Cook was questionable to return to the game, though Cook was quite slow in exiting the field of play.

Cook had 29 yards on nine carries with a touchdown and three catches for 35 yards before leaving the game.

Seattle recovered the fumble and a 29-yard Jason Myers field goal gave the Seahawks a 20-17 lead after the change of possession. A 1-yard Rashaad Penny touchdown run had tied the game at 17-all before Cook’s fumble.

Left tackle Riley Reiff is out for Minnesota after being diagnosed with a concussion sustained late in the first half.

  1. It actually looked like he injured it on that long carry in the 2nd quarter. He ran off holding it. Pec muscle?

  2. Minnesota might be starting to unravel. Injuries are taking their toll, no doubt, but Cousins might be starting to make bad decisions out of desperation. The deep pass he tried right after the 60 yd Seahawk TD looked like it was more likely to be picked than completed.

Maybe that’s Minnesota’s achilles heel – playing from behind.

I noticed that as well, but then when they calle it a “shoulder” I recalled him having issues wiht it at FSU so maybe something there popped up again, hopefully for the Vikings he isn’t out long, cuz its pretty clear they need him, as the more and more the Vikings need Cousins to do, the harder it is going to be for them to be successful.

  4. What you’re watching right now should terrify all you Seahawk haters.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

  5. Rhodes gets hurt every play he’s burnt on. Looks like Cook was taking notes. Seriously though, glad Diggs is ok, that could’ve been ugly.

Packer rubes still think they can hang with Seattle and/or New Orleans. They will continue to gloat until it’s their turn. False sense of entitlement. Seahawks look good.

How about 2 Penny………….scores that is! LOL

  8. Well, well, well, even IF we lose, our players don’t quit on each other & stare each other down while getting smashed with their commercials playing. Ha ha ha

  9. I have to say, and all joking aside; this Viking team can be scary impressive. No joke. I’m glad the Packers already played them. But because they did, and beat them, it makes it a lot easier for me to pay-back the incessant anti-Packer vitriol at times like this.

Its bad enough you talk crazy on behalf of your own team…. don’t try and put words in other fan bases mouth. Packer fans know they need to play A LOT better if they are going to advance in the post season, and that the the game they showed up with in SF and LAC won’t beat ANYONE.

No need to kick Baker Mayfield while he’s down just because you guys caught an L tonight, bud!

  12. What’s crazy is everyone seems to miss that the Seattle player recovering the fumble was never touched down. The only contact was by his own teammates. He then runs backwards and throws the ball away near the endzone. At best, it should have been Seattle’s ball inside their OWN 5 yard line, but if that ball on his throw goes through the endzone, it should have been ruled a safety, and Seattle never gets their following field goal.

Apparently Xavier Rhodes did not get the memo. But be proud of what good losers most of your team is. (I guess?)

  14. I noticed him grimacing in pain and favoring his shoulder right before the end of the first half; Was waiting for someone to mention it or ask whether it was a minor injury that got worse after he went out, but that moron Booger was too busy yapping to notice it.

Maybe you were speed watching it and just caught the replay cuz they didn’t show him getting touched or had it muted and didn’t hear the whistle cuz of you had your tv muted cuz of Booger McFarland… or don’t understand the rules… another really popular version of that this for Minn. fans this season is OPI.

The Seahawk (30) got the ball and was rolling out of the pile… number 56 (center?) flopped on top before he could get up and run with the ball him making him down at the 26 yard line. Whistles blew he got up and ran back to celebrate…..

This just goes to proove that Viking fans will complain about officiating even if the play is called 100% correct, its been old for a while, but this kind of reach is flat out sad, and a bad look for several of their fans.

  16. Great player, but definitely one of these guys whose inability to stay relatively healthy just becomes tiresome after awhile.

  17. Booger is annoying and exhausting. Dude, take a break sometime. You don’t have to fill up 90% of airtime with your mouth! Take a tip from Troy…get paid to say very little.
