With Robbie Gould back, Chase McLaughlin is out.

The 49ers waived the kicker Tuesday, the team announced. McLaughlin, though, isn’t likely to remain out of work long.

He went 7-of-8 on his field goal attempts and made all eight extra points in three games with the 49ers. He was inactive Sunday when Gould returned to the lineup.

McLaughlin made his NFL debut with the Chargers earlier this season and made 6-of-9 field goals and all seven PATs.

The 49ers also announced they signed receiver Chris Thompson to the practice squad and waived offensive lineman Will Holden from the practice squad.

    Colts should claim him

The Colts should see if Jim O’Brien would like to come back.
One season, O’Brien played at WR along with his kicking duties.
That would come in handy for the Colts who have a need at both positions.

  2. Clara gets the first half trophy at 8-0….but now that they have to play real teams, are a mediocre 2-2 in the 2nd half.

Its too late to tank for a pick like usual so come on guys…stay alive

Two losses by two field goals in the final seconds. Yep they’ve totally been exposed.

And refs bailed them out in the Cardinals game. Wheels come off this weekend.

  5. I think Clara fans are so in love point differentials that losing by 3 twice should really mean they are still undefeated. Not to mention arguing Shanahan should have played for a tie. All sorts of forward thinking coming out of Northern California. I just pray Kittles is a 100% and no team ever holds from now til the end of the season. It’s a tiresome excuse heard over and over.

  6. Boonie you are a jacked up troll for sure. Going to be great to see the Seahawks get beat at home in December. Heck if they play like they did last night, the Rams are going to spank you. Niners will destroy Brees and the overrated Saints Sunday.

The loser troll can’t keep still. We will be looking for you if we end up beating you in week 17 and winning the division. But you will be nowhere to be found. You’ll be back in your hole where you were when we beat Green Bay.

  8. I’m reading a lot of ‘ifs’ in Clara responses. Seattle plays on a need to basis. Each week is different. Bottom line, chances are Dec 29th game won’t matter for the Seahawks. They will probably be resting players while you clowns are trying to get a momentum win going into wildcard weekend.
