The Packers activated offensive lineman Jared Veldheer to the 53-player roster Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The team waived offensive lineman Adam Pankey to make room.

The Packers claimed Veldheer off waivers from the Patriots on Nov. 27. He signed with New England in May but retired a week later.

The Patriots placed him on the reserve/retired list before cutting him last month.

Veldheer, 32, started 12 games for the Broncos last season.

In his career, he has played 118 games with 113 starts for the Raiders, Cardinals and Broncos.

Pankey has spent time on the Packers’ practice squad and active roster this season but did not play in a game. He played in one game for the Packers in 2017 and one in 2018.

  1. Welcome to the roster. Hope you get a chance to pancake one of the queens in a couple weeks. It will only take one play, so I feel that you should be given the chance.

  2. 6’8″ 325 and will provide depth at both RT and LT.

32 yr old Jared Veldheer(Vel-DEER) has 113 starts and has started every game he has played in since week 7 of his rookie season.

Some teams rosters just don’t have this type of quality depth going into the postseason. Some teams are struggling to even make the postseason.

  3. The Packers have been struggling and barely beating bad teams, yet somehow they are still ahead of what we are told is the most dominant team in the NFL. Weird.

Yet he hasn’t played a snap since 2018 and hasn’t played 16 games in a season since 2015.

As to the playoffs – maybe you should worry about the Packers making the playoffs. The only team that has clinched a playoff spot in the NFC is the Saints.

You assumed the Packers would beat the Rams and the Eagles – how did that work out for you? With the way Rodgers is playing and your last three games against the NFC North – it’s entirely possible that your team could lose out.

  6. What about the QB position? Check out our backup QB? If Rodgers goes down………………that’s it. Packers need a veteran QB as a backup. Someone w actual league experience!!!

  7. Anytime the posts from trolls are 50% or more of all posts, it sends two messages…..the Packers are doing the right thing, and the trolls are accepting their rightful role somewhere beneath the Packers. Otherwise, why would they care?

I can tell you this, I don’t care about the Vikings, not while enjoying first place in the division………at their expense.

No, but if the Rams win out and Packers lose out, the Packers most likely don’t make the playoffs.

    Simple math mark. 11 – 5 beats 10 – 6…

  10. Oops…

I see my screwup… I meant to say the Pack lost to the Chargers and the Eagles.

Bottom line, the Packers haven’t clinched a playoff.

True, true. I’d say roughly about the same chance of taking place as the Vikings losing out, and the Rams winning out 😉 Good luck!

  12. Viking fans act like they won something . Well they haven’t yet and probably never will , so just keep obsessing over the Packers . It’s funny when Viking fans say Rodgers only won one super bowl when the Vikings have no super bowl wins , just can’t figure these fans out. Most obsessed fans in sports.
