On Saturday afternoon, the Jets downgraded running back Le'Veon Bell to out with an illness. On Saturday night, Bell reportedly went bowling.

According to the New York Post, Bell was spotted at New Jersey’s Boonton Lanes the night before the Week 14 game against the Dolphins, where he remained from roughly 10:30 p.m. ET until 1:00 a.m. ET, when the facility closed.

Per the Post, the Jets declined comment on the situation.

On Monday, coach Adam Gase said Bell is “pretty close to 100 percent,” and that he was expected to attend a weightlifting session on Monday night, because he was no longer believed to be contagious.

The Jets face the Ravens on Thursday night in Baltimore. Needless to say, whether he went bowling and what the Jets do about it will be an issue on Tuesday.

  1. Was he bowling alone or with someone else, because thats really important. Did he rack up any strikes, and if so how many did he get, because thats even more important. Lastly did he bring his own bowling ball or did he use a house ball? All of these questions are equally important and need answering is anyone from the Jets available, and when can we expect an answer?

  2. I’m not a fan of Bell in the least – but is they guy really hanging out at some dive bowling alley in NJ until 1am on a Saturday night? Yeah, sure.

  3. Le’Veon Bell wins the award for Funniest 911 call I’ve ever heard. “She wasn’t wearing anything” X 2.

  4. If someone has the flu and you don’t want them getting the team sick, how is that bad? If he wants to bowl, let him bowl and be contagious at the bowling alley

  5. Maybe the Jets can void Bell’s contract – further proving that Bell made a huge mistake last year by holding out for more money.

The Jets were dumb enough to sign him. Are they dumb enough to keep him?

  6. I have nothing against the Jets but I have to say that all the warning signs were there with this guy, he’s all about himself and himself only.

He has no problem taking his inflated pay and not playing, no problem at all.

  7. If this is correct, it just confirms what a great team guy he is.(not) Other comments come to mind, but I will let others have their say.

  8. ” Bell is “pretty close to 100 percent”

Translation: “We fully expect him to attend any future scheduled bowling events”.

  9. Bell won’t be there next year, he knows it. And that is the best thing he could hope for. As long as Gase is the Jets head coach they will still be a dumpster trash.

If true – this guy is such a looser. Bravo to the Steelers for getting rid of such loosers

C’mon man – at least learn how to spell. You’re making grade school errors. My kid in Grade 2 knows the difference between looser and loser!!

It’s no wonder how the country elected a very stable genius to run it.

  11. Not sure it matters but definitely not a good look. One time when I had the flu, my family pressured me to show up for a get together at a park anyway. I was sitting there trying not to throw up and my boss walks up and says, good to see ya. I opened my mouth to respond and vomited all over his pants. It could have been a bad situation but I introduced him to my family and it ended up being something we laughed about later.
