One of the Bears’ best defensive players will be back on the field on Sunday.

Chicago defensive tackle Akiem Hicks is being activated and will play tomorrow against the Packers, Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports.

Hicks suffered an ugly elbow injury in Week Five and was placed on injured reserve, but he has returned to practice and is now ready to return to play.

The Bears are two games out of the NFC wild card race and likely need to win out to get to the playoffs. Hicks will help as they attempt to upset the Packers and stay alive in the postseason hunt.

  1. Never really understood why he dislikes the Saints so much. They drafted him and helped develop him, he went on to New England and then the Bears. I could understand if they had traded him to Cleveland. He is a great football player.

  2. This is the greatest rivalry in all of sports, and fans around the world deserve both teams to be at full strength.
As a GB fan, I agree wholeheartedly!

  3. Packers should win these last three games. This one will be the toughest of the three by far, as the Bears and Packers always play each other well.

The Vikings will be hard pressed to win another game this year, meaning they’ll probably miss the playoffs and Zimmer/Spielman will be shown the door. With so much money invested in a mediocre team, it will be a fire sale akin to what the Dolphins did this year, followed by another decade long rebuild.

  4. With Hicks back drawing some dbl teams, Mack will be harassing Rodgers all day!!!! But the question is will the Packers get help from the refs once again. How many times will Bakitiari & Balaga hold this game without getting flagged. Better hope those zebras are not green & gold striped like always.
