Packers “not going to apologize” for getting to 11-3

The Packers have held on late to win several games this season and they added another entry to that list against the Bears on Sunday.

Green Bay led 21-3 at one point, but let the Bears score 10 points in the fourth quarter while their own offense stopped moving the ball down the field. Chicago had the ball in scoring range at the end of the game and couldn’t get it done, which allowed the Packers to move to 11-3 on the season.

After the game, the win was the focus of the players in the locker room as right tackle Bryan Bulaga said the team wasn’t going to feel down because of the way things played out in the victory.

“I’m not making any excuses for us, because we need to be better in those situations,” Bulaga said, via Ryan Wood of PackersNews.com. “But at the same time, the record is what it is. I’m not going to apologize and hang my head for being 11-3. I’m just not going to do it. It’s hard to win in this league. A lot of guys in this locker room haven’t won a lot of games the last two years. We’re 11-3 now, and no one’s apologizing for it.”

The Packers now move on to a date with the Vikings and any manner of win will make them the NFC North champions this season. It would also push them closer to a possible first round bye and a chance to keep trying to hold teams off well into January.

  1. They should be ashamed how some games were given to them. I know their fans won’t be.

    —————————————-

Name one game that was given to them. Didn’t think so!

  2. Just be appreciative and thank the Refs for repeated wins and non-holding calls.
Enjoy it while you can. As soon as Rodgers is gone and you stop being media and ratings darlings…..you’ll stop getting the calls.

Better improve your defense before then.

“It’s hard to win in this league.“

Unless you’re the Packers and get division games handed to you on a silver platter by the crooked zebras.

The Titans were offsides on a game winning a FG attempt which they blocked, they were also the benefit of a whistle blowing the play dead on a loose ballt that was going to be returned for a TD vs. TB.

So two things to take away, from this, the refs miss calls in every game…

It doesn’t bug you that the Titans get those calls, because you aren’t obsessed with them.

  5. The Packers are 11 – 3, but they can’t be happy how they got there.

Their fans are puffing out their chests, but inside they’re trembling.

    Why?

They are watching Aaron Rodgers rapid decline and know they are stuck with him for years because of all the guaranteed money in the unneeded new contract they gave him last year.

If they hadn’t done the extension, they could have let Rodgers go in free agency after this season and they just might have received a compensatory pick.

Now they’re stuck having to watch Aaron struggle to complete 50% of his passes (he didn’t even hit 50% today).

You must be the guy from that sportsmanship commercial that tells the official the ball was REALLY was out on you, and they missed the call in the championship game, so the coach tells you to foul them when they inbound?

Refs are human and make the call live without the benefit you get of watching replay while you crucify every call thats made… the saddest part is the Viking fans hold on to these longer than the teams that were actually effected by it.

  7. The refs have given the Green Bay Charity Case at least 6-7 of those “wins” they’ll be exposed soon enough. I’m talking about both the officials and that pathetic franchise.

  8. Rodgers should give the referees a big sloppy KISS…AGAIN, for a 7-14 point swing on the Penalty on the NON-penalty muffed catch and fumble recovered by the Bears… Guess what the game was won BY?? 8 points!
If this referee team isn’t investigated,It is sickening how obvious this team is getting free calls by the referees, even to the snickering of its own fans sitting next to me, laughing “If they don’t fix it we will take it!

  9. Putting all trolling aside, I don’t understand the comment, “But at the same time, the record is what it is. I’m not going to apologize and hang my head for being 11-3.” Who would ever apologize for being the division leader. A lot of guys in this locker room haven’t won a lot of games the last two years. We’re 11-3 now, and no one’s apologizing for it.”

I might need to be in that locker room, but it sounds less aspiring than the win.

  10. Rodgers should give the referees a big sloppy KISS…, for a 7-14 point swing on the Penalty that was a NON-penalty muffed catch and fumble recovered by the Bears… And I am not a fan of either team! Guess what the game was won BY?? 8 points!
If this referee team isn’t investigated, it SHOULD be. It is obvious this team is getting free calls by the referees, even to the snickering of its own fans sitting next to me watching the game today, laughing ONE SAID,“If they don’t fix it we will take it”!

A team that overachieved? A team with a rookie head coach, that many people said would be lucky to be .500 have a playoff berth locked up with 2 weeks to go?

The Packers are what they are, they are a team that when they script the plays starting each half they tend to start well (or drop what should be TDs) they then go into this mode where they do a soft prevent, and then seem to stumble after the scripted plays are done, and instead of putting teams away for good they let them hang around much more than they should regardless of its, letting Minnesota back into a game after a 21-0 lead, or a team like Washington Carolina or Chicago hang around, I have said it several times the last few weeks, if the Packers don’t start playing better they will be one and done. Today was a day they should have put Chi. but after an INT they got no points, and the defense should have thrived when they were up 21-3 vs. a team like the Bears that should struggle to pass, with the way I expect the secondary and pass rushers to play.

  12. Now all that’s left is to Beat the Vikings next week! I can’t wait Packers will roll! Packers 47 Vikings 5

  13. PATHETIC ?! Had Geen Bay allow RB Jones to be their workhorse RB their re ord qould be far better that what it is ! Green Bay plays the very same games with their WRS ! Piss Poor choosing !

  14. Week after week and there are only two guarantees: a Packers win, and increaingly salty tears from the haters. Of course we get calls from the refs; win 13 world titles and your team might get them too. But until then…deal with it. GPG.

  15. We’ll see you next week at home after blowing out the Chargers 39-10. The team that beat the Packers, and revenge for the Phantom PI that took away the Vikings TD needed to tie, THATS NOT including the (!TWO!) Non called delay of game penalties on the Packers.
See you next Monday Night!!! Be afraid, be very afraid!!!

Hope next week Erin walks into another Barr. Would love nothing more than to see that pansie laying on the Bank turf in pain looking up at the lights while hearing the Skol chant.

You are truly classless. Rivalry is one thing, but hoping for injuries and celebrating it is totally different – you are a deplorable.

    _____________

Take this week to make sure you are familiar with what is and isn’t OPI, and how the Delay of Game works, since you haven’t figured it out by now, and several of the others rules because there are TWO games left in the season and you are still complaining about rules that enforced (correctly BTW) in the SECOND game of the week.

I guess though, blaming the refs is MUCH easier than admitting your favorite team got into a hole of 21 points and they couldnt dig themselves out, or the fact that Cousins threw one of the UGLIEST intercetpions in the red zone you will see all season which hurt the team immensely, but yeah refs and stuff, or is Cook gonna be to banged up to go and you can just go with that excuse instead?

  18. The call on Flash Patterson for the early hit on the punt receiver was a joke. No fair catch sign, the ball arrives, and a full beat later Patterson puts a legal should into him and knocks the ball loose. Penalty on Patterson. *HUH*?
Packers keep the ball with 15 extra yards of field position.

  19. The Vikings have paid 84 million dollars for a QB and he hasn’t delivered a Division title in two years, and they aren’t even sure if they’ll make the playoffs going into week 16, having missed them last year.

    That’s hilarious.

  20. Let see , the Vikes beat the Chargers so they’re going to bear the Pack? They built Las Vegas on people like you using that type of logic. Well the Vikes may very well win next week, it’s going to have very little to do with what happened this week

  21. Cousins is 18-11-1 as a starter for the Vikings with almost 8000 yards 55 Touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Not bad. He hasnt been the problem aside from that one throw into the endzone. He’s not Brese or Brady but he’s the best we’ve had since Culpepper other than the Farve year and Keenum.

  22. The call on Patterson was BS, no Packer fan disagrees with that, it’s clear as day.

Easily mitigated by the enormous number of penalties not called on the bears. Blow to the head on the QB, pass rushers held every other play, the non-DPI call on Davante adams on 4th down that would have put the packers in FG range, I could go on all day. Yet we talk about 1 call as if that’s why made the Bears lose.

The Packers are an imperfect team that won’t do much in the playoffs unless they luck their way through some games. They’re not a contender. Doesn’t make them a crap team either. You know, there is something between “utter disgrace” and “most dominant football team in football history”. It’s the 2019 Packers. Just okay, with flashes of “wow pretty good” but too inconsistent to rely on. 1-2 seasons away from putting together a legit contender.

  23. The ‘Packer Bias’ on the part of these refs this year won them two games outright. Maybe a third if you count that retroactive penalty that took away a touchdown against MN. And who knows how the game would’ve turned out today if ‘Packer Bias’ hadn’t saved that turnover in the first quarter with the phantom call against Patterson.

  24. Never heard Bryan say he isn’t going to apologize, but he did say “I am not going to hang my head at 11-3.”

    Got another W. Mission accomplished.👏

This rivalry is a street fight and streets fights are never pretty. It is always a good thing when you beat Chicago. The Packers have now swept the Bears 7 out of the last 11 years and are 42-15 against the Bears since 1992.

The Packers are in a nice position in the NFC right now and they control where they will end up. Clinched a playoff spot and with 2 more wins they are getting at least the #2 seed in the NFC.

Seattle, Green Bay, New Orleans and the 49ers all have clinched playoff spots. The best teams in the NFC are all in with 2 weeks to go in the regular season.

    #PackersNation!

  25. This bryan bulaga guy may be more disillusioned & full of himself than aaron. No excuses or apologies?
If anything other than a SB win is the gb mentality, bryan may want to recite those excuses & apologies.

  26. Started with no expectations, a new front office, a new coach, and an all-new offensive system. That’s hard enough. Two steps forward, one step back. Steady improvement. One brick at a time. First place. Good enough for me.

You must have forgotten your 2 west coast road trips where your team was blown out both times and it was you with the salty tears…

  28. Rodgers should give the referees a big sloppy KISS…AGAIN, for a 7-14 point swing on the Penalty on the NON-penalty muffed catch and fumble recovered by the Bears… Guess what the game was won BY?? 8 points!

Are you referring to the same play that Patterson illegally led with the crown of his helmet against a defenseless player? Exactly. Keep crying!
    Go Pack Go!

  29. Rodgers said it best; “Questionable penalties and non-calls usually balance out during the same game, but assuredly within several games, and positively over the course of a season.”

Having heard that, I would add; “As a lifelong Packer fan it feels good to finally be on the balanced side of the equation after resoundingly being on the short end of the stick for so long.”

Additionally, if it irritates the haters, it’s all good.

  30. If the refs were on the packers side, the pack would have won more than two championships in the last 52 years. Don’t let the green and yellows get under your skin. Probably 75% of packer posters are not even 52 years old. Every NFL team has had bad calls against them this year. The Vikings had their opportunities in the first game against the pack but did not execute. Are the Vikings better than the pack, yes IMO. It should be a good game Monday night, Vikings winning 35-24. Vikings will then go into gb as the 6th seed winning that game. That would be the best scenario, leaving that disgusting lutefisk taste in their mouths all off season. If gb wants the NFCN, the Vikings will be more than happy to bounce you out of the playoffs. SKOL

  31. Nobody needed “the benefit of replay” to see that they blew the punt return call against the Bears. If you watched it live you were confused on why a flag was thrown.
    No replay necessary.
