Jamal Adams expects to return this week, break DB sacks record this season

Jets safety Jamal Adams has missed the past two games with a sprained ankle. He had a limited practice Wednesday.

Adams terms his chance of returning for Sunday’s game against the Steelers as “very high.”

He said he was in “a real low place” while sitting out a victory over Miami and a loss to Baltimore.

The Jets could use him as Adams was the team’s only Pro Bowler, his second in three seasons.

“He’s played as well as any player I’ve been around consistently,” Jets coach Adam Gase said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN. “Week in, week out, you never see a dip. It’s just always elite level.”

Adams has 6.5 sacks this season, 1.5 behind Adrian Wilson’s single-season NFL record for a defensive back.

“I’m not going to tie,” Adams said. “I’m going to break it. No doubt.”

  1. LOL

How did this guy make it on a crap D over McCourty to the Pro Bowl?

We’re supposed to believe this moron plays a pure, versatile Safety spot? He’s a one trick pony an awful D.

  2. Jets needed a pass rusher? Well this kid can do everything. I wanna see him finish with 10 sacks. Jamal, Go get that qb!

I’ll take Poyer, Hyde, McCourty over this guy. Me first and poor attitude. But hey, he’s gonna make the hall of fame from all his josh Allen INTs.

He has an enormous ego for a guy that can’t cover at all.

He’s basically a small LB who can’t even cover TEs. Everything is down hill and to the line of scrimmage. He’s very easy to rope a dope with the low IQ.

Wait until he starts demanding 15 mil per with the inflated opinion of himself. lol

If that dude was healthy he was on pace to get 10 sacks – as a Safety.

    0 1 Thank You

He’s not a Safety. He plays at the line of scrimmage constantly. He’s a LB.
