Marshawn Lynch officially back with Seahawks

“Beastmode” is back in Seattle.

Marshawn Lynch is a Seahawk once again after signing a contract with the team on Monday night. Lynch’s agent, Doug Hendrickson, announced the agreement.

The Seahawks’ answer to fix their 2019 running back problems due to injuries to Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and C.J. Prosise was to resurrect the backfield that helped reach back-to-back Super Bowls. In addition to Lynch, the Seahawks also brought back Robert Turbin to fill the void created by the injuries to Carson and Prosise Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Lynch had the best years of his career in Seattle from 2010-2015 as the focal point of Pete Carroll’s rushing-based offensive attack. Lynch racked up 6,347 yards and 57 touchdowns on the ground with 158 receptions for 1,309 yards and eight receiving touchdowns during his 82 games played for Seattle.

Penny tore his ACL two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Rams. Carson sustained a fractured hip and Prosise broke his arm in the first half of Sunday’s loss to Arizona. Travis Homer was the only healthy running back by the end of the night for Seattle.

Neither Lynch or Turbin have played this season but they are familiar with most aspects of the Seahawks’ offense. Now they will be tasked with helping the team into the playoffs once again.

  1. Nice to dream, but he’s not the same player. Of course, we’re only playing the 49ers so it should go fine.

  2. Unless Detroit pulls off a miracle, no matter what Seattle does Sunday night…they are playing in the Wildcard rd. Nice work Pete- always take a delay and punt on 4th and 1. BEASTMODE!!

  3. My expectations for a deep playoff run aren’t so that high. A little nostalgia is just fine for this fading season

  4. I’m ready for the “12’s” to get in here and act like he’s the missing link on that offense. Your o-line is about as tough as wet, used toilet paper. Trust me, no one is scared of Seattle. The Niners will handle that game and secure the #1 seed.

Just like yesterday when your team got outplayed by Hundley? Seattle is trash. Enjoy the 5th seed and first round exit.

That’s what you said the last time they played.

    Hashtag 27-24. On your field.

  7. Beast Mode and the Turbinator both back with the Hawks! Woo-hoo! There is a Santa Claus. I don’t care how well he plays…it’s just going to give the whole team a boost to have him back. Go Hawks!

  8. Everything seems to be against the Seahawks winning this game, so it’s of course they will win. Vegas will make a killing as everyone will jump on the Niners. Fade the public. Go Seahawks, signed all the Saints Fans. WHO DAT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Welcome back Lynch & Turbin. Much needed help to give The running game some threat. A Seahawk win and loss by GB and they get a bye. A loss by New Orleans, Packers would give them the #1 seed. Go Hawks!

  10. Imagine getting to sit on your couch all year and then getting called up to join a playoff team right at the end of the regular season.

  11. Fun to see Seattle fans out of their minds right now. Desperate is What the Seahawks are, and bringing back has been’s like Marshayn Lynch won’t fix it. Your Charade is coming to an end Seahawks. You played like hot garbage on Sunday, and the Niners are coming up there and leaving with the 1 seed and home field for the playoffs.

  12. The 33 year old geezer may need a walker to get around. Don’t know if those are allowed in the NFL.

  13. Even if Seattle wins this Sunday night, they will still be the third seed if both the Saints and the Packers win. Go Saints and Packers.

  14. You can always tell who is afraid of an upcoming game; they are the ones making the brashest, loudest predictions, afraid they won’t have an opportunity to run their mouth after the game.

Seattle has had trouble with the Rams and the Cardinals throughout the Carroll/Wilson era. The one team they have thoroughly and humuliatingly owned though, is the 49ers. I guess most of these fans crowimg on here were taking a break from 49er football during those lean years, else they might be aware of that

  15. I just hope that these two guys can quickly get into shape without injuring themselves . . . remember that loud-mouth guy who thought that returning to the game and playing for the Saints would be a snap?

Any team coach by Shanahan is doomed to mediocrity – son as uninspiring as father.

  16. Well, I don’t think it will happen, but if they do manage to get to the final seconds of the SB and are at the 1 yard line and need a score to win, just hand the pigskin off instead of passing it…

We were also down a almost a quarter of our starters and it was the first game back with both right/left tackles and our FB’s first game back in 6+ weeks and you had to beat us in OT AFTER our backup kicker missed a kick. I love listening to Seahawk fans talk about that game as if they whooped up on the Niners at full speed. Cinci would have gave us a run for our money that week.

  18. The game plan will be to roll Wilson out as did the Rams last week. Regarding Marshawn, he is not just some average player and until I see otherwise he will have a positive impact.

  19. Is he eligible to play in the playoffs?

I recall PFT saying Gronk would be ineligile for the playoffs if he tried to return after week 13. Is Lynch in the same or different?

And similar to our situation that game, you’re now missing key offensive players and some defensive. You won because of a terrible backup kicker’s shank in OT.

Hashtag revenge game. Prepare to lose 2 in a row at home.

  21. That’s great… Beast mode is more like the least mode now… you should stay retired lynch and take your dump attitude with you….

I am too wondering on the eligibility rules in these cases. Anyone who knows could you please chime in?

  23. Unless the Seahawks can miraculous fix their defensive woes, then it won’t matter at all. Seeing that in their last 3 games(all against teams missing the playoffs) the Seahawks gave up an averaged of 186.6 rushing yards per game, 26.3 points per game, and 243 passing yards per game.

  24. Ha ha ha @ the Seahawks guys comment on the loudest comments (which was aimed at the 49ers fans).
The loudest brashest comments are coming from the Seahawks side of the house.
    Pot…kettle?

The reason for this is that Lynch’s contract was 2017 and 2018 with the raiders. He ended that year on IR, but never filed his retirement papers from what I read. He didn’t have too since his contract was over.

You usually file retirement papers when you still have contract years left, since then the team still owns your rights if you return. Lynch was essentially a free agent, and isn’t on the reserve/retired list because he never had to be on it.

Therefore he isn’t subjected to the reserve/retired activation deadline.

Gronk must have still had some contract years remaining, although I did not look his contract up to verify that.

  26. I don’t know what’s worse, Watching or listening to Wilson talk, Pete Caroll going into his little act on the sidelines and now, punk ass lynch and his antics.

  27. It won’t make any difference. Seattle is done. I can see the niners putting a 50 burger on that pathetic defense.

  28. I’m a die-hard Seahawk fan but even i realize this isn’t going to mean much. Our defense is horrible…as in literally the worst i’ve seen in a Seattle team ever. Even when we went 2-14 back in 1992 we had a FAR better defense.

  29. .
so are they going to rush him at the goal line for the win in the Super Bowl??
u know after he just destroyed the pats defense to get them to the goal line??

  30. u know after he just destroyed the pats defense to get them to the goal line??
    ——————————————
Nobody destroyed the Pats defense to get to the goal line. It was thanks to the fluke catch by the TE while laying on his back. Look it up.

If by chance they do get there, Bevell isn’t the OC anymore so, there’s a good chance it’ll be a run.

There’s a reason why Bevell was never seriously considered for a HC job. That play is a prime example of why.

The defense has been an issue all year long. The offense has had to bail out the defense many times.

Nothing new here, at during this season.
