Jaquiski Tartt set for full participation at 49ers practice

The 49ers may be getting a few defensive players back in the lineup against the Vikings this weekend and it looks like safety Jaquiski Tartt is going to be one of them.

Tartt missed the final four games of the regular season with injured ribs, but there’s been optimism about his chances of playing in the divisional round and head coach Kyle Shanahan added to it on Tuesday. Shanahan said Tartt will be a full participant in practice this week.

Tartt had 48 tackles, a half-sack and a forced fumble in 12 starts for the 49ers.

Shanahan said edge rusher Dee Ford, guard Mike Person, defensive lineman Kentavius Street and linebacker Kwon Alexander will be limited participants. He also confirmed that there’s a good chance Alexander is activated from injured reserve before Saturday’s game after recovering from a midseason torn pectoral muscle.

  1. He’s not an All-Pro, but was playing very, very well when injured.

This, along with Alexander & Ford being able to play, is a game changer.

  2. Hopefully all these guys are full strength come gameday. Vikings are no cupcake and likely may be the biggest threat to the Niners remaining in the NFC. Kirk Cousins could be in for a long day if these three are on the field with a rested Bosa, Buckner and Armstead.

Getting Street back would also be big. The depth and rotation on the DL is what made them so strong through 4 quarters.

Do the world a favor and please humiliate the Vikings and end their season.

I see Packers fans are begging… hoping the Vikings don’t advance. They want no part of playing Minnesota. It’s their worst nightmare.

  5. “Want no part of playing Minnesota.” Actually could we please? But that would involve exciting their fans for another week and having to live with their delusion. You think you would learn after almost six decades how the story ends, every time.

  6. I’m sure the guy is good and the 49ers D is about the best in the league, but really, his mom named him Jaquiski? Was she trying to save up vowels?

And its always amusing to see the same old cheeser obsessed with the Vikings — glad the team to the West remains squarely in your frontal lobe.

    1. The regular season over a week ago, its done it doesnt matter now. Seeding is in place.

    2. The Packers beat the Vikings second time without Cook and Mattison

    3. Even Aikman and Buck said the offense was way diferent than it was that Monday Night without Cook and Mattison.

    4. All the Packer D line had to do that night was rush Cousins who had a 3rd string running back playing in Boone.

    5. If you dont believe number 3, ask the D line of the Saints who were at the time ranked 4th against the run. Much better the Green Bays D Line.

Packer rubes need to worry about beating the Seahawks this week with Lynch another week in the system and finding his footing.

Translation: just repeat what you did to the Packers (37-8)
